Bedtime

Not that is has any importance, but here's a random question I had. What time do you usually go to bed? What time is considered late for you? And how long to do usually sleep in in the morning? <br><br>This year I've found myself going to bed earlier than usual. I get tired more easily and I have more work. I have to get up early and I'm the kind of person that needs a lot of sleep. Some people can stay up 'til 2, wake up at 5am, and still feel okay, not me. I used to go to bed around 10, maybe 10:30 on school nights. Now I find myself heading to bed at 9:30. On weekends, it really depends. Could be 9:30 again, could be midnight. I get up between 6:30 and 7. On weekends I sleep in til about 9. <br><br>Do you think this somewhat normal? Please share.

  • I usually get to be around 11 pm. Here lately I've been going really early, say 9:30.<br>When I wake up, it just depends on the day. If I have to go to work, it's between 7:30 and 8 am. If I don't have to go to work, then around 10 am. Just depends.
  • For most teenagers, their circadian rhythm doesn't cause them to feel tired until around 11pm at night on average. This is just 'average'. You are getting the correct amount of sleep which is pretty rare in teenagers. You need about 9hrs and 15min of sleep. Lack of sleep can have many negative effects such as weight gain, irratibility, etc. If you wake up early, you should feel tired earlier at night.<br><br>You are completely normal. I had gone a period of time getting tired at 8:30 and going to bed by 9:30-10:00. I know go to bed at about 11:30-12:00 which is not giving me enough sleep xD.<br><br>You're all good! :D

  • I'm in bed by 9-10 most nights.<br>I'm tired by 9, and exhausted once it hits 1.<br>By 2-3am I'm completely on zombie-autopilot mode. xD

  • Like what Tarn said, you're doing fine Luvy. =D <br><br>Unlike me, I don't remember -EVER- going to bed before 10 pm :/<br><br>And now, I have so much homework/studying that I can go for a couple days without sleep, well I take like an hour to 3 hour naps when I get the chance.<br><br>For instance, I went to bed at 4 or 5 am on Sunday morning, woke up at 12 pm (sunday). Stayed awake till 6 am Monday morning, took a 2 hour nap, went to class at 8 am, had 1 hour nap at 11pm, stayed awake till 6 am, slept till 12 pm and went to class, and took a nap at 5 am to 7 am this morning. :/<br><br>So I've been up for 61 hours out of the pass 70 hours (from 12 pm sunday) if my calculations are right? Math is hurting my head really bad, and I just want to sleep.

  • At the moment I force myself to go to bed about 10 or 11PM, and get up at about 4-5 AM. I'm attempting to get my body used to a healthier amount of sleep. Normally I average 4 hours in a day, though it's not unusual for me to stay awake for as long as 2-3 days without sleep. I actually can't sleep more than 8 hours, or I feel tried an sick, so I really dislike sleeping.<br><br>I'd say you get what most people recommend, so I guess that is normal, or at least healthy.

  • I usually get 5-6 hours of sleep every night.<br><br>Normally I get off the computer by 11:30, then I go up to my room and write for an hour or so, and get up at 6. If i don't write for that hour, it's studying. I rarely just walk up to bed and sleep. Though, usually after a test day, I do because I'm so exhausted from stress xD<br><br><br>I get tired if I sleep too much. I had one day I woke up at one in the afternoon, and I kept falling asleep all day because I was exhausted from sleeping too much. I usually make it through the day on 5-6 hours of sleep with no problem, but on occasion, I do take naps during the day. Especially on Fridays since I come home and just crash after the week at school xD<br><br>On the weekends I sleep a good 9 hours, though.

  • <span style="color:#FF00BF"><span style="font-size:85">Like Tarn said, I'm never really tired before 11.<br>And even then, I usually get to bed/fall asleep between midnight and 1am, then getting up for school about 7am.<br><br>I know I don't get enough sleep, but I'm usually fine throughout the day.<br>Although lately, I've slept terribly. And yesterday I fell asleep around 6pm, got up at 10:30, back to bed at 11 and then got up at 7:30.. I'm feeling pretty amazing after that. haha<br><br>And then on weekends I'll stay up to 1-2, and then I usually work so I get up at 8am for the most part.<br>Although once every 2 weeks or so I will allow my body to actually have a decent rest and I'll make myself go to bed early, giving myself around 11 hours of sleep when I try and do that. Or, I'll actually not have to work in the afternoon and I'll let myself sleep in. But I feel like I miss too much time when I do that, so it isn't very often anymore.</span></span>

  • Thank goodness! I'm not alone! I thought it was just me.. when i was 16-17 i stayed up till about 8 AM and FINALLY go o bed just to get back up two hours later at 10 every morning. Now I find myself in bed by 10. Speaking of, its 9:45 right now.. I was gonna go to bed at 9 but my fiancé called. I can unction or three days straight without sleep. When I had a urinary tract infection i went 3 1/2 says with no sleep because i was so restless. I finally passed out on the couch in the living room around 5 PM the third day and slept till 3 the NEXT day.. My sleep routine was SO horrible until this passed summer. I've found that when im angry/sad/bored I just go to sleep. It passes the days/hours by faster and when I wake up the next day I feel better =)

  • I am extremely irregular I usually go to sleep around 12:30 but it really depends how early my appointments and lessons are the next day :P .

  • I'm usually in bed some time between 10 and 11pm. My brain really starts to shut down after about 7pm, so I've never been good at going to parties and staying up all night xD
