• They look alright to me, just one thing.. PBs no longer include the choice of colors outside of normal game colors (unless you are paying separately for them). What kind of dog is it? A hound?

 • *sighs and sends in an email* Wish I'd know that before spending two hours trying to name colors. xD; Thanks Bama.

 • I was curious to, but being very "buisnessy" I was thinking, true serious vp'rs whould want there own colors for a crazy breed, and it chould increase goodie dye sales, but in my opinion it whould drecrease pb sales. I my self want a "ninja pup" or something weird and crazy like that, and i dont want a ninja pup to be "white" lol. Id want cool colors, so i my self am rethinking about buying a pb now.

Im just guessign about the reason why
 • The idea of a Personal Breed is to have a dog breed that you created, all on your own. You are the only one who owns it, unless you decide to give/sell some or all to someone else. You get to choose the breed type and standard colors your dog normally comes in and suggest possible stats for the breed. You are also given 8 imports of the breed.

Half the cost of the PB is donated to charity, meaning admin1 and admin2 actually receive something like 40 dollars (I think) once PayPal fees are taken out. At $9 per color, that's another $72 that they would be giving away. So, yes, I believe part of it was a business move. Giving away breeds and colors, means they give away $112 to make $40, not a good business move.

 • The problem with that, I'd think, is that the gifty color isn't guaranteed to be passed on, where breed colors are... and a lot of people really won't be as interested in buying a personal breed if they don't get to chose the colors. I know I personally am not as interested in getting one now.

 • I think that was one of the main attractions of a personal breed, being able to choose colors like gifty colors. It boosts the want for a personal breed if it comes with being able to make your own colors, because they don't sell that often because of the cost to begin with. Also, many people find spending over $50 on a game is outrageous so $95 is heartbreaking, but a reasonable price for a personal breed. I think it's painful as it is and takes more dedication than most to buy a personal breed for $95.

It's still not even garunteed whether it's going to be good at anything, let alone good stats. I have Winged Wolves and was allowed to do gifty colors which I love to death.
My Winged Wolves weren't the best of stats at all, but I was just happy for the gifty colors.

I think making people pay for that much more for gifty colors just makes Personal breeds less desirable because the gifty colors were the second main attractions. I doubt people will buy a personal breed if they cannot custom the colors. I actually think the colors were practically the main attraction. Paying so much money to have them all goodie dyed just ruins the want to buy a personal breed because it's just going to have dull colors like black, brown, and white. Less people are not going to buy it because of that which results it being an almost dead item. In the end, with how it looks, it doesn't seem like personal breed will be bought as much as it was when people were allowed to customize the colors. That's just my opinion.

OTHER THAN THAT!

Kyt, congratulations on winning the personal breed! I'm glad you found something you wanted. =] It sounds like an awesome breed.

 • I for one was in the process of saving up for a PB. hearing we cant do our own colors now, Im gonna go spend my money elsewhere. That was he main thingy for me, yes I get a personal breed, but I also wanted the "personal" colors that went along with that. If you think they are gonna lose money now because less people will buy pbs, which in turn would make them lose more money then what they would be loseing including colors. $95 is very steep for a online game, and all features should be included. Alot of people now have giftie colored pbs, and whoever gets them now, is losing out and feels they dont get their money worth. >.<

Im gonna go spend my money elsewhere now, as that is way to high to have boring colors like white and black.

Same here, mom said it chould be my chirstmad gift and now i think ill just get something else. I really wanted one, but the colors what really made it, honestlly if it cost less id still get it, but im not going to pay 100$ of money to just change a name of a dog, wich is really all your doing /:
 • Overall, I have to agree with you guys. The temptation of actually spending all that money for a personal breed is gone without being able to choose the colors.

What are the normal game colors? Just simple things like black, white, brown, etc? What about things like black and white, sable, tri-color, blue, etc., which would all be "normal" colors in real dog breeds? Could someone choose to have the colors be just one color(like all black)?

 • The normal colors already in game, such as you find when you look up a dog breed. Those are the colors you can suggest for your personal breed.

While buying a personal breed may not be as appealing without being able to choose the colors, from a business standpoint, if colors are $9/color, you were given $72 dollars worth each time you purchase a PB. If you pay $90 for a PB and are given the colors as well, you are only paying $18 for that personal breed, everything else is just for the colors. Of that $18 "profit" the game is making from the PB with colors, the game is donating all of that, plus another $32 to an animal shelter. That doesn't make business sense, no matter what way you look at it.

Now, this is just me talking and I don't speak for admin1 or admin2 on this, so maybe they'll change their minds. It is their money after all.

 • I completely see the rationalization behind it, and I understand that it's not up to you at all. I'm just saying(in case admin1 and/or admin2 read this) that it was already hard to justify that much money for what is essentially just coding, and now that the option of personal colors are gone, it's not appealing at all. Some of the personal breeds rely on the personal colors for other people to correctly interpret what they look like, since a lot of the personal breeds are strictly fantasy based(as opposed to based off a real breed).

 • Sushi has stated most of my concerns.

From my understanding, we only get import colors on PBs unless we pay extra. (Import colors being black, white, gray, black&white, tricolor, brindle, salt&pepper, and fawn).

Every other breed has BREED colors. Colors specific to that BREED, in addition to the standard import colors.

The way you spoke in your last post, Bama, is that I can go through every other breed and select any of their breed colors (blue merle for example). Is that so? I mean, that makes this less of a turn off for potential PB buyers, but it still is kinda... Iono. Many people won't want one unless they can make breed colors actually specific to THEIR created breed.

Really, without being able to truly customize their breed, very few people are going to want one, because then it's more like you're paying $100 for a name that only you can have. It's really not worth it.

I understand admin1 and admin2 only get half of that, but that doesn't change the fact that players are still PAYING the $100 for what is, as Sushi said, essentially just a bit of coding. I do hope this thread has been looked over by admin1 and/or Nate, and will be at least mentioned in the meeting I've heard will be occurring tomorrow in regards to what's going to happen about breed colors.

 • Yes, they've been reading the thread since you responded on the support ticket.

 • Thank you for letting me know, Bama. <3 Also, thank you for responding and giving your opinion on things, and making it clearer from the potential point of view of a business owner rather than a player. ^^
