My parents wont let me see a movie if i have one thing on the floor on my room. They wont let me have a cell phone They think im like my oldest brother,but im not. They make me pay off everything they buy for me.So im buying They wont change my room color. They wont buy me anything that i want for my room like a new tv or anything like that. I have a kid tv. They wont let me even wear black nail polish on my finger nails They wont let me wear anything black. I wear a med. in jr now,but they make me wear kid clothes. They wont buy me underclothes. They are the cause of all my acne.

I agree with Tot.. I mean.. Not being mean, but.. You sounded kinda "spoiled brat-ish" in that post =/ Just because you can't have something doesn't mean you have to hate your life. Life goes on. I can't wear black nail polish either, so I compromised with my dad. I can have black as long as i have the tips a different color. My tv is 7 years old and the remote doesn't even work for it, but at least I have one. I have LOTS of clothes from last year and I'm prolly not getting more, but at least I have clothing. I didn't get a cell phone till I was 14. I have SO many rules because of the way my older brothers acted at my age, but at least I get some freedom. I don't really see the point in underclothes unless you are talking about undies/bras/boxers. I wear an undershirt, but it's because i get hot easy and usually take my t-shirt off to cool down. Just because you don't get your way, you don't have to complain

So hang in there and life will get better.

Basically everything you said is how I was raised. I can easily say that there is no reason to hate your life over those reasons. They are all material, and once you are older they will probably seem pretty silly. Mind your parents until you can make your own money and choices, or you're just going to stress yourself out, and always remember that you aren't going to be a kid forever.

I don't have a cellphone. If I want something, I pay for it. I don't have any TV in my room. My mom makes sure to approve of my clothes and make-up. I don't complain about this stuff. Parents aren't trying to make your life miserable. Maybe they can't afford to buy you everything. Maybe they CARE about how you look so they won't let you wear certain clothes. Maybe they dont' have the time, money, or energy to go through painting your room when it's okay the way it is. There are people that have it a lot worse than you.

You shouldn't hate your life I dont have a tv at all in my room I have only like 5 goood shirts 3 pairs of shorts/capries no pants at all my room has been the same color since I move into my house I have to work my butt of around my house to take care of my bunny I have only 2 undershirts I'm sorryy but you sound spoiled it this vent you shouldnt hate life just because a few things dont go ur way

Let me tell you something. I'm 16 years old, almost 17, and here's my take on this My parents wont let me see a movie if i have one thing on the floor on my room. At least you get to go to the movies. A lot of kids don't. I wasn't allowed to go with my friends until I was 15. They wont let me have a cell phone I didn't get a cell until I got my driving permit. Didn't get texting until i started driving. They think im like my oldest brother,but im not. This is just how some parents think because they are supposed to be a rolemodel or a person you look up to. They make me pay off everything they buy for me.So im buying Good! It teaches you that not everything in life is free. They have to work to provide for you, so the least you can do is give back. It's how the real world is. Nothing is really handed to you. They wont change my room color. I don't understand what the big deal is. It's only a color, not that big of a problem. They wont buy me anything that i want for my room like a new tv or anything like that. I have a kid tv. I don't even have a TV. The closest I have is my laptop which I only use for school work and online courses. They wont let me even wear black nail polish on my finger nails So? Just because you can't wear a certain color, it isn't the end of the world. I understand you might just want to be yourself, but parents have their reasons. They wont let me wear anything black. Once again, parents have their reasons. I wear a med. in jr now,but they make me wear kid clothes. And again, they probably have their reasons. They wont buy me underclothes. I'm sure they do to some extent. It's kind of a priority. They are the cause of all my acne. I understand what you mean, but it may not be the only cause. Stress, genetics, and the food you eat can all be causes. Sounds to me like you may be being a bit ungreatful. Be happy for what you have.

You sound very ungrateful. Agreeing with allot of other people you sound very spoiled. I dont have a TV in my room and I dont think its the end of the world. We also dont have cable so theres really no point in having a TV in my room. And thats good that your parents make you pay them back for what they buy you, it teaches you that everything in life is not free.

Okay guys, Im not saying this doesnt sound a little selfish, but hold up a second. We all have things we hate about our lives, we all have acted or will acted like a spoiled brat at least once in our lives, and sometimes theres just that one little thing that sets you off and you cant take it anymore. Thats probably what has happened here. So let them vent, after all, this is the venting section. They were probably really ticked off when they wrote that, and Im sure we have all said something of that sort before when we were mad and realized how silly it sounded later. I know I have. No offense intended toward anyone, but Im sure telling this player they sound selfish doesnt make them feel any better.

I agree. It's human nature to be greedy. Technically speaking we are all selfish if we've ever wanted something(which we all have), because we should all just be happy with what we have, and all of us are more privileged than many people in the world for the mere fact that we all have access to the internet. Does that make us spoiled brats when we want something or whine about not having enough? I don't think so, we're all just a little selfish. Does that mean we need to blatantly point out when another person isn't being completely grateful by calling them names? I don't think so either, unless you want to be the pot calling the kettle black.
