Eventing vent

edited September 2010 in Vent
I'm sorry, but it just really annoys me when there are team events, and someone enters 4 dogs, but puts them all as leaders of a new team... I tried to enter my mushing team into an event that only had 14 entrants, but couldn't, because there was no longer an option to make a new team. Yes, I know I could have entered them on already made teams, but isn't the whole point of breeding and training a team for an event to enter them together? *sigh* Sorry if I sound somewhat whiny, and this seems rather trivial, but I felt like venting about it. lol

As a side note, I also hate it when people call their dogs "champions" when they get to regional, national, etc., if the dog has barely had any wins/places/shows. I just don't think that a dog that's placed in first like 10 times out of a thousand shows is a "champion", nor should it be auctioned off for more than it's made in it's career when it's close to the end of it's life expectancy....

This was not directed at anyone in particular, I'm sorry if anyone thinks it is.

 • Ah I hear yah.
As a fellow mushing eventer, I've found that a big issue too. I admit that I've accidently done that myself once or twice, but even then I've gotten extremely annoyed at myself, withdrew my dogs and re-entered, losing a event-turn-entrant-thingo.
Looking at the mushing events I'm running I see that's happened there.. it doesn't even take much of an effort to simple click the drop down menu and pick a leader :| The person who did that is ruining there own chances at winning anyway -shrugs- their fault.
 • If you'll let an Op know, we'll remove the leaders that don't have teams.

I know. Especially when the dogs entered have no chance of winning even if they were all on the same team... I think part of it is to see if any dogs that would do well would be put on their teams....

And thanks Alabama :)
