Everything but the homework.

edited September 2010 in Vent
Since progress reports come out either this week or next, I really don't want to miss a homework assignment. Especially not in my honors English class, considering, unlike a few of my other teachers, and my teacher for English last year, she doesn't take late work [how unexpected]. Well, she frustrates me. She doesn't put the homework on the white board, which I can deal with because I listen in that class and manage to write down the homework. But, Friday I didn't. And she doesn't post it on her website.
Damn it.

And I need to do a current event for my foods class.
And I think that's all that needs to be done.

-_-

  • Have you tried calling or emailing the teacher to receive your assignment? What about going to her after class? If I was in a class and did not hear the homework assignment, I would not leave until I got it, because to walk out knowing I didn't have it, would make it my fault for not trying to get it.
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.
  • Ask someone else in your class if they got it? Im sure at least one person did. At my school almost none of my teacher accept late work, and if they do, they take off at least 20% of the grade you would have got usually. At least be thankful (it sounds like) your school doesnt.

Do you have a planner? Those are very useful. Get one (if possible and you dont already have one) and write down your homework as soon as you hear it. You could also use a regular notebook or just paper as long as you jeep track of it.

  • Sushi, I didn't have time. My next class was on the other side of the school, and we only have 5 minutes to get to class. By the time I get to my other class, the warning bell had already rung. Friday, I had just gotten into my class as the final bell rung.

Cyve, I have a planner, and I didn't write down anything for Friday because my English teacher normally never gives us any homework [really unusual for an honors class], and when she does it's due in a week or two. I'm upset that I didn't get the homework, even though I was paying attention. I'm not in a class with a lot of people I know, and the ones I'm in class with that I know I don't have their number or anything. /=

  • So for future times when this may happen, get someones(perferably more than one, in case they miss it too) number =) It doesnt have to be someone you even like just ask someone, "Hey, can I get your number in case I miss what the homework is?"

  • Your school doesn't give passes? Our school has us carry around assignment books and in the back theres places for teachers to sign if we have to use the bathroom or we're leaving their class late. I had to use a pass just today cause I was finishing an art project. If teachers dont write passes, couldn't you have gotten them to make a not on why you were late to your next class? Could you have stopped by after school? It just seems like there was lots that could have been done about it. (Im sure its resolved now anyways?)
It is, but I couldn't have stayed after. I'm sure I could've stayed after class and gotten it down, but my next period has lunch in it xD And my brain and my stomach weren't on the same wavelength.
