Do any of you guys hate being in classrooms that have absolutely no windows whatsoever? I do. Because I'm one of those people, where, 20 or so minutes into class, I fidget. I bounce my foot up and down, I constantly shift positions, I chew on my pencil, doodle, crack my knuckles, daydream, etc. And what helped me out a lot last year, was having windows in the classroom. I could look, see how it was outside, realize that it was 99 freaking degrees with an 80% humidity factor, and be happy to be inside the cold rooms. Plus, I liked most of my teachers. [Except my Spanish 2 teacher. I found out it just wasn't me that hated her, though.] This year, half of my classrooms don't have windows. And it's the classes I have the most issues focusing in. The extremely boring ones. Geometry, and Health Team Relations. [HTR should get better once the semester gets going, though.] Geometry is okay, it doesn't confuse and frustrate me nearly as much as algebra did. Actually, we did a brush up on algebra yesterday. And I was so frustrated I had to leave my book open, go upstairs, shower, go for a walk, come home, take a nap, and then continue it. And even then, it frustrated me to the point where I just put it away. Left it mostly finished. [She doesn't collect, just walks around and checks to see if it's been done.] Anyhow. She gave us basic geometry today, so I had that done in a few minutes once I understood it, and I'm like, "Damn I can do this all year!"
Which means, next year, Advanced Functions and Modeling will be for me, granted I continue to stand geometry.

Anyhow.
Geometry class doesn't have any windows. And that makes me antsy. I'm away from the window in the door, too, so I fidget and kinda space out a lot more. And I hate it. Plus, my classroom is teeny.. ): And I've got this kid from swim breathing down my neck constantly, and then you have those kids that -refuse- to shut up, no matter what punishment. [Phone call home, administrator intervention, etc...You know who I'm talking about] And it really pisses you off when you sit in the back of the classroom, and you already can't see the clock, or out the door, and now I can't hear the teacher. I'd like to get into med school, thanks.

I found out a good way to eliminate those people, though. You take honors classes. And you make sure your honors class is early in the morning.
Because then no one talks. ;D

Needless to say, I like my honors English, it's...More my pace. The selected readings are more my pace, ones I've never read before. Some, I've never even heard of. So I like it.
And English II isn't a box, thank God.

Anyhow, I need to go study my HTR vocab/Geometry vocab/English vocab because I have quizzes tomorrow... ): It sucks.

 • Oh I know this feeling.. My anatomy class has NO windows and I sit in the very back. Thank God all the kids in my class are really good at behaving and being quiet. My art class has LOTS of windows but a BUNCH of "goof-balls" so its funny but that makes me not get my work done.. then, my pre-cal class has ONE window but my teacher keeps a curtain up so we cant see out of it.. and i zone out LOTS during that class.. =( My college english class has a window that takes up half of one wall.. but when our school had a new wing built.. it was built in front of that window.. now we have a lovely view of the side of the new science/math wing..
 • I rarely zone out, except when I've been going non-stop for more than 48 hours...which is understandable I assume. I'm fine with no windows, but I hate being jammed up next 40 students with no breathing room. An English class that I dropped was that way. It was one of those temp classrooms. There was only enough room for a thin, small size person to fit between each row. The adults, men, larger students, and those with big bags always ended up hitting or disturbing other students just to get to and from their seats.

Also, I agree with you on the students that don't know when to shut up. Early morning classes are definitely the key to avoiding, or at least minimizing your exposure to them. However, I swear, one morning in a chemistry course I took, some stupid students were playing games in the back of the lab room while the teacher was lecturing. They were being so loud that the students up front, including myself, couldn't even hear. A lot of the students, that were there to LEARN kept telling the teacher, and finally on the 3rd complaint he told them that if they want to play games, then they can leave so the other students can learn, or they can put it away and quite down. He was a kind of introverted guy, but I imagine that if it had been some of my other teachers, they flat out would have been told to get out.

Geometry was my favorite math. It just makes complete sense to me. Once you learn to look at life in shapes, it's a lot easier to relate to it. As an artist I've always been that way, but I guess other students have trouble visualizing it like that, because so many people complain about geometry.
It's just. Loud. Plus, my HTR teacher never shuts up and goes on a tangent for 45 minutes of class... and they're cut short because we don't start letting out at normal time until tomorrow, I believe.

Geometry still isn't my favorite. Conditionals and things related to them don't make any sense to me whatsoever. I can do angles and I can do formulas. I just can't switch words around in a sentence. -_- It's doable, though. She's lessened the homework load now that we've gotten past the first few days of school, so it matches my HW load in my honors English.

My foods class is amazing, though. I love my teacher. Her and my English teacher. My English teacher is from Indiana, so I can pretty much understand everything she says [Like how she'll be in the middle of a sentence, go "and...", stop, walk away, and I know exactly what she's saying and can finish her sentence, because I'm famous for doing the same thing], plus Indiana and OSU are rivals, so this should be a fun football season. ;D

When do you start college?

 • I see. I hate when classrooms are loud. That is definitely distracting.

I hate word problems with a passion! Ah! I swear. Depending on how they are written, and who taught you, it's hard to always know what to do. Angles are a joy. I loved doing them so much. Eh, I wish I could do geometry again.

I think I'm in my 4th week of the semester already. I'm in an algebra course, which is easy since I've done the same level, if not slightly more advanced, algebra in high school. Unfortunately, the easiness of course makes it easy for me to procrastinate. I'm also in a history course about civilization. So far we've covered cavemen, and Mesopotamia. Both course are online, since I have transportation problems this semester.
See, my geometry teacher is fun. She came to school on 'plaid day' wearing Tripp plaid skinny jeans. She's 25-ish, and she's good at math. I wish I had gotten my foundations of algebra teacher, because he spent like 20-odd years in the air force, and gives you time to digest everything. She doesn't, but is still a decent teacher. I like how she makes us write out the problems and then solve them, which is why after that first conditionals test, the quizzes and then the chapter test I did decent on because I finally got them. I just... Don't like math. I'd rather sit in my room and read a book all day long than do alpha numeric equations and angles and everything. It's just a pain.

Speaking of. I have homework that needs to be done, as I procrastinated all weekend. For good reason, though. I've had a sinus infection since Wednesday and I haven't been sleeping very well because I can't breathe.
