People that call there banners Pro

edited August 2010 in Vent
So awhile back I had I made pro banners on my layout. Some wise person cam along and told me banners are not "Pro" or Professional until you have sold them for real cash and something else. (I will credit you later XD) So I look around and see all the people that label there banners as Pro, they are nt. I doubt anyone besides a few people have actually sold banners for real dollars. If I am wrong please correct me. End of Rant.

  • Also its Personal Picture not Professional Picture or ^Pro Pic^. Its personal becasue its for you not anyone else. I think.
  • Lol I was coming on to vent about someone who has banners called "pro" and its just a picture that they used to draw on with that pain accesory. They charge 9k!
  • <span style="font-size:85"><span style="font-style:italic">More often than not</span>, if you label your art, layouts, banners, icons, etc. as 'professional' or 'professional quality' it's not worth looking at. =P<br>I've made over 50 dollars on my art over the past months and I still wouldn't call it professional. I'm not making a living out of my art if it took me months to make 50 bucks. x3<br>If you have to advertise your art as 'professional' to get attention then you need to improve, it's that simple. <br>Let your art speak for itself!</span>

  • There aren't really any 'pro' banners anyways XD People who say that are usually kinda stuck up<br>I call my pictures 'pro pics' though because if I don't people will assume they're just pictures of dogs I took from google

    Back in action?
  • Well, technically that definition isn't all that incorrect. Professional artists, at least the good ones, won't call themselves professionals until they sell art for money on a regular basis. Professional artists also tend to be career artists, or art is one of their main jobs. However, some people do use the term "professional" to describe something as "high quality." It's like saying "I have pro skills, so here's a pro(quality) banner."<br><br>I don't use the term professional, even though I have made real money.<br>Art is more of a hobby to me. If it makes me a few extra dollars, then that's fine, but It's not what I rely on for an income, and it's not what I want to do for the rest of my life.<br><br>Using the term "quality" banners might be better than professional, but you're free to use whatever you want based on your own definition.<br> 8)
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.
