As some of you know, one of my friends moved in with us about 2 months ago, and we're sharing my room. No big deal, we have our own beds, our own stuff. But she has a guinea pig.

I love animals, and guinea pigs are fun pets. But Joanne smells so bad. And she squeals constantly for no reason other than she can. And she flings crap out of her cage CONSTANTLY. We vacuum our room 3-4 times a DAY. And my entire room smells like Joanne. It's disgusting. And I hate it. |:

 • make her get rid of the guinea pig? I had one once.......poor thing was blind and she squealed all the time. She'd stop if we'd talk to her or make smooching noises at her. lol idk it was weird but she loved it. Maybe she just needs attention...........and a bath maybe? and the cage should be cleaned every day she maybe trying to tell someone to clean up her crap lmao

 • That's just it, she gets a bath when my friend decides to clean her cage, but that's like, once every two weeks. I clean my hamster's cage out every 4 or 5 days, and he doesn't smell.

I can't make her get rid of it because she had it before she moved in, and I wouldn't want to get rid of my pets. just. D; I don't like guinea pigs!

 • Tell her to clean the cage more often or it has to go. It sounds fair that if you clean you animal cages often she should do it on the same days you do..make sense? Sit down and talk about it with her.

 • Ugh, guinea pigs are noisy creatures, especially if they are lonely. For the guinea pig's sake, that cage needs a light cleaning at least every other day and a complete removal, scrubbing and replacement of bedding at least once a week.

Maybe ask her if she could imagine walking around in her own urine and poop for two weeks.

 • I agree with everyone.
Be firm with the owner. As Alabama said, her cage needs to be cleaned a lot more frequently than it is. That alone should really reduce the smell.
However, if some of the smell still lingers, you might wanna try <a href="http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753506&lmdn=Small+Pet"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Marshall Bi-Odor Waste Deodorizer for Small Animals. I bought it because my mom was complaining about my mice, even though I was doing daily(or every other day) spot cleanings, and I was completely scrubbing the cage weekly.
