Barnes and Noble...

edited July 2010 in Vent
Has to be the most overpriced bookstore I've ever been in. Period. Other than Books a Million.

I bought a mini mitybrite booklight, and a case. And it was $54.02. -headslams- I was going to get a little neoprene sleeve, and a silicone case, but the silicone frame was too big for the neoprene sleeve. So I got a hard case that folds over and buttons like a briefcase, so it won't fall open in my purse, and the little neoprene sleeve would possibly get crushed.

But God I only had $60... D; My wallet is crying.

  • It is expensive.. but its my favorite bookstore for some odd reason >.>. I go there and spend around $50-$70 on books.

And they also raise the prices on summer reading books because they know kids need them. They will be a small paperback book and be around $12.

Pretty much, and I've always liked B&N, because they've always had a good book selection, better than Borders and Books a Million. But, omg. Sixty dollars for two things. And the tax was like 8.25%, which added that 4 extra dollars onto it. Jesus.

It honestly is... But I figure it's a good investment, because I read like crazy.

  • I like Borders. They are very reasonable.
I went in Barnes and Nobles to buy language books one time, which were expensive. However, they had a deal on the classic books(like Vanity Fair, Count of Monte Cristo, Grimm's Fairy Tells, etc.) so I pick up quite a few for like $1 a piece or something cheap like that.

  • It's just. Horrible. And the particular shopping center it's in is horrid with traffic.
Back home, Barnes and Noble is really popular. I never knew Books a Million or Borders existed..

  • I always go to Borders because it is closest to my house. And also because their memberships are free. So you get like 30% discounts every week(Sometimes its like 44%, who doesnt want an almost half price book?), and I think its like for every $150 theyll give you like $5 on your next purchase. I dont know what kind of discounts Barnes and Nobles have, but I know their memberships are $25. And thats too much for a bookstore too far away. Ive never been to a Books a Million so I cant have an opinion on it. But I also go to used book stores, and some of those are more expensive than regular ones. You just have to look around for prices on certian things because even if the bookstore is generally expensive, they might have what you want cheaper than the generally cheap store. However Id suggest Borders, because I find they usually have cheaper stuff, and you get all kinds of discounts with a free membership. (:

Whew that was a long post xD
