People...

...who have an opinion about you or someone else, but not proof or something to back it up.

I was commenting on my friend's status that said, "Wow. People these days."

A girl that doesn't like me had commented before I did, something along the lines of, "I know, they need to grow up."

I made my own little comment, adding to how people can be sometimes, saying, "And mind their own business."

The girl that didn't like me then commented, "Maybe you should take your own advice."

Dude wtf makes you think that? Nobody has any reason behind their opinions on people anymore. If you're going to have an opinion, make it one with a reason/proof why the person is like that, AT LEAST so I can understand your point of view instead of just plainly disagreeing. Your opinion is completely pointless to me if you have no reason. Why bother having one if you can't explain why you have it?

 • Omg! I feel your pain!

I was just told that my "friend" Jon doesnt like me and that I "bug" him. I'm like "okay why?" and hes like "idk.. you just do"

Wth?? So, I know how ya feel. It's VERY frustrating!
 • I'm sure the reason felt obvious to her, so she felt she didn't need to share that. I've done things like that before; assuming other knew what I meant.

In a way I can see why the person told you to follow your own advice. It's sounds like you were agreeing, and adding to the OPs status, but then saying people should mind their own business. It's like passing a judgment, and then telling others they shouldn't judge. That's how I interpreted it, but I haven't see the actual comments, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

 • Well, basically, the only reason she'd say that, is because I don't like her friend - who is very much getting into my business lately. It's complicated, I'd have to explain the whole story. High school, eh?

I was agreeing with her status, yes. But I don't get how that's not minding my own business? I was adding my opinion on what she wrote, just like the previous girl... o_O

lol, highschool is definitely a horrible, complicated place.

As I see it, it's not minding your own business, because you are talking about other people. Other people aren't your business, so therefore talking about them isn't minding your own business. That said, it would be hypocritical to say "mind your own business," when in fact you don't follow it yourself. I'm not saying that's necessarily how she took it, just that, that is one way to interpret it. Does that make sense?

There is also an equally great chance she just said it to push your buttons, since the "follow your own advice" come back is often said right back to people who say "mind your own business." Maybe you should respond back with a simple "What do you mean by that?" to find out how she took it.

I've personally never liked the phrase "mind your own business," because it can, and does, come back to bite you on the butt.
