Stop Breeding Mutts with my studs!!!!!

OMG i know they can't enforce player rules. But it gets really annoying when people use your studs to produce mutts when you've worked your butt off to bring up your lines, and you specifically stated in the owner comments that NOT MUTTS are to be produced from my studs. I had my studs up for some rediculous price but someone managed to have the money to breed to my dogs AND GOT MUTTS and they were crappy stated mutts at that. So I made the offer to buy them all back and WASTED 2mil ON A LOT OF MUTTS (2mil total not each). Still I'm down to 800k and that ticks me off.

I have. Its sad cause now on all my male dogs I have to have private studs. I was trying to be fair to people who couldn't afford studs but thanks to people who can't seem to read i have to do private studs

Oh well. You ahve to face whatever is gonna happen. Private stud dont get as many. Or let you dogs out and enjoy mutts.

I've seen alot of your vent posts pertaining to people breeding mutts or overbreeding with your studs, fact is: you're on a game that was made for children, and cheap studs are an open invitation for a million puppies that aren't worth anything. If you put a dog up for public stud, nobody is going to have any sympathy for you when someone breeds some crap dog of another breed to it, it's just that simple. If you don'y want crap dogs bred with your studs, don't make them openly useable by the public, people don't care if you're trying to be considerate and help people out (obviously), so why should you waste a good stud on them?

You have an attitude, and are very rude, for one. Oaters said nothing rude, she stated facts. You've posted about over-breeding your dyed dog, about poeple breeding dogs you put for stud to lower statted females, and about this. Oaters is right, I doubt many of us have sympathy for you when you've put the dog up for public stud, and left it after other players have already told you that it wouldn't happen if you just let people ask to use them and have them as private studs. If you don't want it being overbred or bred for mutts, then put them as private studs. If it really riles you up so much, take the advice that was already given in your other posts. I don't see why you're so worried about having mutts bred. *shrugs* I breed mutts myself sometimes. I have two that have great stats and they should be good show dogs when I get around to showing them. Mutts really aren't that bad unless the studs are actual line dogs, of which-you should have known the possibility and set them for private studs if it bothered you. My studs are up for public breeding, I don't bother anyone about breeding pure or mixed dogs-because it doesn't matter to me, if they have the right stats, they're just as good as any pure dogs. Oh, and I'm curious..how does putting a dog up for private stud make it so the players who can't afford good studs any different than if they were up for public stud?

Anyone and everyone has the right to post in your vent, whether they like it or not. Sorry, that's just how it goes. I agree with Vi about this. Why not just add this to your other vent about your studs? Everyone is right, it's like you saying you put a dog up for sale and don't like the person who bought your dog, you can't throw a fit because you don't like the person. That's just how the game goes. If you want your dogs used strictly with certain females, only allow those females to breed to it. Only breed in your own kennel, etc.. Yeah it's more work and less money, but that's how it goes, you have to decide whether it's worth it or not. If you have good statted studs then mutts aren't always a bad thing, but if you don't like them being bred, then don't allow it.

If you put your dogs up for stud, you have to take that risk, like Sea Oats, Buffy, and others said. I guess that now there's a way to set up private stud? Figure out how to do that.

Calm down, I was just stating simple facts. You have NINE vents just on the first page right now.. so I mean, obviously you want some kind of attention for something.

-bows to Vi- Well said. And this is VIRTUALpups. The dogs are not really "worth" anything. So therefor there isn't that much to get upset about. Sure it is frustrating, but the dogs are not real and you can always get more.

Yes I have a slight attitude because I hate working so hard on something and then feel like its for nothing. And so what if i have a lot of vents. I've stated before I'm easily frustrated. Its just a vent and I know the facts I'm not asking for people to post in my vent. they can if they want to but they don't have to. I'm simply putting it up because this is what the vent thread is for. So am I not allowed to vent? I'm not asking for attention.

I wasn't trying to start anything in my original reply. If you read the whole thing, and got to the last sentence, the main point of the whole thing was, why would you work hard for something just to throw it away on people that obviously don't care that you're just trying to do something nice? Which, if I just read this post correctly, is why you're frustrated in the first place. With that said, I should hope you see the attitude is uncalled for and definitely unnecessary.

sorry if I came across that way. I'm truly more mad at myself because I knew if I put them up for stud like that it would just end up bad. So really no one to be mad at but me.

I know it is kinda late to post, but it seems like putting private studs up does not work! Everyone is too lazy to message you and all that stuff XD Well, at least I am. It's the same way with bidding on dogs, it's rare to get a bid. Personally, I have the same problem, which is why a lot of my stud fees are high, so that new novices won't be able to afford them (sorry). Any-who, at least your getting the money they paid as a stud fee?

I know I'm late in coming BUT I must add my 2 cents in: AllInTheName: I do understand why you're frustrated, you feel as if the studs you put up to stud should make people realize "Hey, this person worked hard on this dog, they obviously want only good to come out of it" But, dear AITN, you must understand, there are people who still don't understand the game, who don't understand why Mutts aren't allowed. I know when I first joined this game before I figured everything out, I bred Mutts non-stop..the whole time. Most people on VP have owned Mutts at one point in their VP life. Like I said, my first Novice was full of nothing but Mutts I bred specifically based upon dog breeds. I did in fact use Public Studs. So, I could've been one of those people you're complaining about. As for you buying all the Mutts and wasting 2 mill? I believe that part you wanted sympathy for-I feel none. For Mutts are a HUGE part of this game. Without Mutts, a lot of people wouldn't have amazing Regional/National dogs, Rescue Kennels wouldn't get anything to rescue, Novices wouldn't be able to easily afford something other than low-stat dogs. So, AITN, I'm not trying to be harsh here at all, but you must understand: 1. You placed the dog up for Public Stud, you must realize there are new people who don't understand how this game works. 2. You bought the Mutts your stud produced. 3. If it really bothered you all that much-you should've taken time, 5 minutes even, to explain to the person CAMLY why you didn't want other breeds bred to your stud. Explain Mutts aren't worth as much as purebreds (sometimes) and that you want just purebred pups from your stud. 4. The Mutts your stud produced-they could've actually been something pretty decent, maybe a Regional showing dog with the right training. You should've offered to help them out-instead of being easily annoyed. I'm not saying you're at fault here, that's not what I'm getting at. What I'm saying you should've turned a negative situation positive because by you buying their Mutts, you kind of encouraged them breeding Mutts. "If you breed Mutts with studs-you'll get lotsa money" You should've explained it to them instead of covering up by buying what they did wrong in your eyes. Mostly, however, you must remember: This is only a game.
