They are sweet animals. Some things you might want to know.
_______
They eat their own poo. I know it sounds gross, but it's good for them!
(MINE) Like veggies more than fruit.
They do get mange mite if so buy a little tshirt XD so they don't kill themselves. Mine had mange mites and we just went to a store and saw a little shirt made by brand "Webkinz".
They are not big herd animals so I wouldn't be surprised to see them fighting. You might want to monitor them for a bit until you are sure they are used to eachother.
Lettuce, and carrots are some of the main veggies they like I have noticed celery also.
I noticed mine only like blueberries, and sweet cherries for fruit.

If you need anything else PM me :D

 • Congrats on the piggies!
It would have been nice to hear you'd done your research first... but I'd be hypocritical if I got mad at you for it seeing as I didn't do diddly squat before getting mine. XD

Guinea pigs are such cute little critters. I had 7 all together.
Your two girls -should- get along fine. I never dealt with any fights with my pigs. I had 6 females and one male(not all at once though).
I had my three females as babies, two died, got two more, a female and a male. And then I got another female. They did really great together. The male was neutered so that was good. But none of the females were fixed.

I did encounter fights when I had two male rabbits and it calmed them down a lot once they were fixed. So if you end up with fights or end up getting a male, and don't want to separate them, fixing them is the way to go.

There's one type of lettuce that I believe is a big no-no(it's been years since I've owned a cavie) and I -believe- it's iceburg. I can't be sure though.

Organic foods are great to give them as well. But if you can, just wash the veggies really well with water.

Fruits are nice as snacks but make sure you don't leave them in the cage for more than a few hours or it'll draw gnats and they're hard to get rid of.

Cedar bedding is a HUGE no-no. Period.
My cavie, Hazey got such irritated feet with that stuff. It's just not good.

Uhm.. What else.. *flails*

Wired cage bottoms! Big big big no-no.
They can cause bumblefoot which is -extremely- painful for your guineapig. If you have a wired caged floor put some cardboard or something on top of it and then the bedding, hay, etc.

*thinks* There's something I'm forgetting.
