Stupid birthday!

edited June 2010 in Vent
Okay so after all the crap I've been through, today is my bday and my husband comes in with flowers(which was nice), but I had asked for one thing and he yelled at me threw the flowers on the bed and stormed to the living room to play his stupid video games! So what I asked for something to buy on vp and he freaks out, and goes off to play his video games? Screw that he can spend money on video games, but I can't buy a couple of dyes FOR TEN STINKIN DOLLARS? Ughh aside from that i read a pretty funny post in the vent section as well :) Thanks again for listening

always,
FixMeImNotBroken

  • Maybe it's just because he finds VP stupid? I hate the fact that you live in a household where you have to ask for every little thing you do. I can understand asking to spend money, ie "Is it okay if I buy this?" My mom doesn't have to ask for everything she does, because most of the time her and my father both want it.
Maybe try talking to your hubby and tell him that it's your birthday and you feel you should get something you really want, and use the money from your own paycheck?

And what was he playing? I hate it when they run off and play COD or Gears or whatever they happen to like.

  • Well I don't work because I was raised and brought up that the wife stayed home, had babies, cooked, cleaned, and took care of the kids. We have 3kids and we have money that could be used to buy what i'd like for my bday. I've asked him three times and it gets me no where. And he's been playing some Dead Space game or w.e

Wow, your generation and mine are so different. I was raised to think that I could become whatever I wanted, just as long as I made the grades. I bring my GPA up ten points, and I can get into practically any college I want to. And you need to point out that instead of playing some stupid video game, he needs to be spending time with his wife and children, and especially you, since it's your birthday.

  • Yeah I know. Lol I'm really not that old its just how I was raised. I'm only 19, got married at 17. But yeah I wish he would spend time with me, but sometimes its better when he doesn't

See, you're four years older than me. But, I wouldn't put up with that. If it's anything I hate, it's being put aside and treated like that.

  • Yeah I know. To me its nothing unusual though since I was raised to put up with these things.

Like, I understand the house wife thing, because when I was younger, I wanted to be a house wife. But, I'm talking about my birthday being put aside for a video game, just because my husband is mad. It's just not right /=

  • Yeah thats what irritates me the most. But I can't say anything about it without getting yelled at. So instead of fighting about it I'm just going to do some offering until someone accepts my offer for a dye lol.
