• Yay geometry, and yay honors bio! Geometry was my favorite required math, and I just love biology. I hope you have lots of fun in them.

My registration date for fall is not until July 1st(I think). I'm hoping to get into English, math, biology, and my second chemistry class. The English, math, and biology I took in high school, but I guess you have to take college versions once you get to college. I don't mind doing it for the bio or math, but I really don't want to take English again. I'm good at it, but I hate it. I also wanted micro, but since the above classes add up to 19 units(20 being the allowed max) I can't take it this semester without getting rid of a class. Lame. D:<

I'm not looking forward to math classes. I just doubled up on them so I could take my last math class junior year, and be done with it. English I'm iffy about. I love the lit, but I can't stand the grammar. It confuses me beyond belief. I told my English I teacher that I'd rather be back in Spanish than in English learning grammar.
Plus, there is this one teacher that is brand new, and just out of college, and she didn't review anything for the EOC's. My friend Abby said they did nothing but projects. The thing is, that teacher and one other are the honors English II teachers. x.x

 • You never know, this might be the math class you love~ I honestly hated math up until geometry. Geometry made perfect sense to me....then again I've met a lot of people that said geometry made the least sense to them... You just have to start thinking in terms of shapes(2D and 3D) instead of sticking to only numbers.

English...I just HATE writing stories. Give me the option to write a 1 page made-up story or a 100 page report on a crumpled leaf, and I'd pick to write about a crumpled leaf. However, I'm seemingly really good at making stories up. I was given an IQ test and scored exceptionally high on making up stories, and I always got compliments on my stories in school, so I don't know why I hate writing them so much. Do you have anything you're good at, but hate doing?

So wait, did you get the new teacher? I'd be nervous the entire time if I had the new(as in fresh out of school) teacher.
Being a freshman is scary at first, but after awhile it's not really that much different from middle school. That's how I came to look at it at least.

 • I dont understand American classes, ya'll have so many o_o

Anywho
I'm in my last year of school (what's that, like senior in American terms? :P)
My classes are

Advanced Higher Art
Advanced Higher English
And Higher Business

I have NO idea what that = in American terms :P
But Advanced Higher is = to first year of University here, so hence I can by-pass the first year of Uni and enter directly into the second year once I leave Highschool.
And Highers are the Qualifications you need to get into the First year of Uni xD
 • Where do you live?
In the last 6 years of mandatory school, students take about 4-8 classes(generally with different teachers for every class) a semester(generally 18 weeks). In the years before that students tend to take multiple subjects, but all with one teacher(maybe 2). That's how it was for me at least, but I know different parts of America do it slightly different. Also, not all of the classes are necessarily required. Some kids can complete all requirements to enter university before senior year, but kids are generally encouraged to take the full amount at all times(to better impress colleges and so schools can collect more money).

Your Advanced Higher classes sound exactly like the Advanced Placement (AP) Classes here. You take the class, and if you pass the final college level test, then you get college credit.

Scotland, UK

Here we take ALL classes in the first and second year of high school.
I think it's something like 16 classes. It not major work, it just introducing the kids to a wide range of different subject.

For the 3rd a 4th years we do Standard Grades, they are studied over the two years and we have one final exam(on the 2 years of work) at the end of the 4th year. You pick 8 subjects three of which are mandatory(english maths and modern languages) You need to pass the Standard Grades to be able to sit the Highers.

For 5th year we study Highers. These are what we need to get into University. Basically we drop 3 of our Standard Grade classes, and follow the other 5 onto Higher Level, English is mandatory. Again we have one final exam at the end of the school year.

For 6th year (my year) you can follow three subjects onto Advanced Higher Level or you can continue to study upto 5 more Highers to have a wider range of qualification or study a mixture of the two (like what I am doing)

Haha, I can't stick to a story plot x.x I wander about. It's really funny.
And, I'm really good at using the AC method of factoring in math, but I hate it because it's so long, and I don't see when I'm ever going to use it x.x

And, no. I don't know who I got. I hope I get the older teacher. I wont know my teachers/classrooms August open house, when I pick up my complete schedule, with lunch and everything.

Ellary: You're confusing me ;-; Higher classes sound like AP classes, though.
