Was Vp Sold?

Mkay so this is discussed in chat, and whether the Ops have the right to tell us or not, is their business. I see no reason why we wouldn't have the right to our opinions/etc. So I do not see anything wrong with me informing VP and posting this. <br><br>I believe that we all have the right to know where our credit card information is going just in case something happens so...<br><br>The chat convo:<br><Venom> So...   • I agree with you. I play both games and would like to know where my money is going at all times, and for us to be informed of any changes to the game. Not only have I noticed the changes in VP compared to the other games, I have noticed that my upgrades haven't come in after several weeks.
    I offer cheap sponser training, and cheap sponser breeding!!!
  • Whiney-- yupps<br><br>Evil-- I know, i haven't been buying since the server change and OW being unlinked.<br><br>I just think that everyone has the right to know what's going on and secrets and "I can't tell yous" doesn't really make any since when we are all loyal customers and alot of us have been for years.

  • The only thing that bothers me is the lack of simple honesty about the whole thing. Just giving everyone a heads up and letting them know what was going on wouldn't be too hard - she already did updates on the main page of the game. It would have prevented all of this, at any rate. I'll be interested to see how this whole thing plays out.

  • The only thing Im upset about is that we are not getting answers, I think its the least we should get considering alot of us have spent a small fortune on VP and deserve answers. I have had no problems with the upgrades and dyes in fact ive gotten them all in like 5 minutes like they said and i use pre-paid visa cards so not worried about soem one getting my info. I personally would just like a answer, a simple yes or now would work for me if they need time to give reasons thats fine.

Guess the cat is out of the bag :)<br><br> We were getting all the dust settled before announcing it to everyone, but I can assure and promise you that the new owners are really TERRIFIC and doing a great job on support and improvements and fixes. All major game fixes are only for the positive at the moment, such as paypal automation which I will soon also be fixing on VHR (still owned by Orbis). <br> I was hoping we could get the new owners to come introduce themselves first, before you all found out before, but it seems you guys are clever! Anyhow, they will come introduce themselves very soon. And they are very cool, and you should have no worries or anything like that. Really you guys are going to get a lot more benefit out of this. <br> The volunteer/game op team has known about this for a bit and been working with them and I think they can as well vouch for the new owners! So, no need to worry any - Now I know there will be tons of questions, I will answer them as I can.<br><br>Also- Azura, I wanted the volunteers to investigate the matter first- as we would in any case in the old days too :)

  • I bought a kennel upgrade through paypal, and like it says in the update I got it instantly. It shocked me because I hadn't seen the update before I order the upgrade.<br> I also resent a ticket from OW that was 160 days old(waiting on the game owner to answer it)through the main site, and it was answered and solved in less than 30 minutes I believe. <br> <br> I personally like the new system. Better service IMO, and all the trustable OPs are still around(I imagine they would leave if something wasn't right). If you're going through paypal then your bank information should be safe. I always use paypal so companies, trusty or not, can't see my info. Sites/companies shouldn't be able to just pull money off/through your paypal. You have to approve orders.<br><br> Answers would be nice, but assuming VP was sold, then they could still be in the process of handing everything over. Maybe the new owner wants to make the announcement, but because of all the work associate with selling websites he/she is busy? I dunno. I'm trying to remain optimistic.<br><br> EDIT: Should have hit preview to see if anyone posted while I was typing. lol, Nef confirmed my first thought.

  • I would like to know as well. This is the first time it's been brought to my attention. But now, my interest has spiked. I want to know what's going on as well. I don't like the hush hush that's going on. The ops know something because they said to be patient. I can be patient but I want an answer. I personally have not spent real money on any of the games for a long time but I have spent a small fortune on VP. I'm with the rest of you. I'd like to know where my money is actually going.<br><br>edit: just saw Nef's post.
  • There was never any deception intended, at all. It was supposed to have been a gradual take over, as both Nef and admin2 and admin1 told us. With the new owners getting more used to the game and how it worked and fixing little things, upgrading others, while Nef continued to handle support and such. What concerned Ops was that a sudden change of hands would scare everyone, including the Ops. Many of us stayed only because Nef endorsed the new owners and intended to still be active with the game until such time and they took over and we all put stipulations that if they intended any major changes, we wouldn't be for it.<br><br>What we'd, as Ops, hoped would happen would be that everyone could get accustomed to the fixes, upgraded forums, etc. That the Ops and the new owners could get used to each other and what each expected/wanted from the other and then, when the new owners announced themselves, the players would already having evidence of their good intentions and Ops could honestly report how they had been handling things.<br><br>Not knocking Nef in the least, but Ari, the tech side of the team is just awesome. He's the one who has been fixing things. We see him on almost a daily basis and it's usually when he has another fix for us to watch and make sure there aren't unintended consequences. Most of the fixes, I doubt most players even noticed, such as spelling errors, correcting some coding to make things work better/faster. Some things you have noticed is the new support system, direct pay from PayPal, spelling fixes, increased ability for Ops to help with things like lost passwords. Usually, if there's something bad happening and we e-mail him, he answers within the hour. He does travel some, but since purchasing the game, there's never been more than a day that he's not checked in to make sure everything is going alright.<br><br>Nate, we've not had a chance to really get to know yet, I think he's more the financial half of the team and has his own company that works with big games, like World of Warcraft and such, buying and selling player items for real life cash, from what I understand.<br><br>The disconnect from OW wasn't meant to happen until the new owners were comfortable with the game and how it worked. It was supposed to have been a gradual take over, with Nef still handling the support side of things, but the new server simply could not communicate with Orbis Worlds at all. And when that happened, a lot of things had to happen faster than planned or expected, such as the support system.<br><br>The only major upgrade I know that is planned is the forums, which have been in need of an upgrade for a long while. There's still a few coding issues that admin1 wants to iron out, such as the Next Page bug and the lag that still haunts the game on occasion, but I doubt anything else major will happen until the game itself is running smoothly.

So nice to speak with everyone in chat and a huge hello to all the players on the forum!<br><br>Sorry for the delayed introduction:) admin1 is getting married this weekend YAY! and we were planning on saying hi and making the announcement after the weekend. But now is as good a time as any hehe! :D :lol: <br><br>I wanted to let everyone know that admin1 and I will dedicate our time, resources and efforts to continuing to run VP as you love it now. We will not be making any major changes in gameplay or rules and will be continuing to work with Nef and the rest of the Ops team going forward!<br><br>Once we have a firm understanding of the technical issues, we'll eventually look to work on improvements and upgrades to the game and forums - based on everyone's feedback:)<br><br>One of the first improvements that we had planned was based on feedback from Nef and the Ops, and we heard that it was long overdue. Over the next few weeks, admin1 and I will work towards an upgrade of the VP forum software! This forum software is very outdated and the new software should be a huge benefit to all our community!<br><br>We're so thankful and honored for the warm welcome so far everyone!
