I kind of decorate my nails that way. I'm not that good, but when I have the time, I'll usually make my nails plaid or put strips or polka dots. I do my own tips as well. My nails are about as long as the first picture xD I love having long nails.

Something about nails that long grosses me out, haha. But I have been known to paint my nails creatively. Just mixes and swirls of colours, though. Once I had white with black drizzle-ness and neon BRIGHT green, haha. Now I just get lazy, and paint them one colour, or not at all.

at least you decorate them. ^^; + i like moderately long nails. i think the first picture is my max.

Garnet those are real? They're gorgeous. I cannot grow nails without breaking them >.> so mine are acrylics lol. I've got an awesome acrylic place here that does all the nail designs =D

Yes 0.0 I do Vampy's nails sometimes.. but we don't hang out much anymore so I never get to anymore =(

I've got short black tipped acrylics at the moment =P $25 a month with my student discount. So much better than $5 a bottle or more for polish.

i wish i could do my nails like that, but i can barely paint my own right hand because my left hand fails at doing stuff. -__- @ buffy; ah, i see. i like the really fancy acrylics. (x

ive never had a manicure

yeaaa, i chip my nails way too easily so i'm thinking if i wanna spend 10bucks on a manicure... i should at least wait for summer LOL

I scrub too much at work to have logn nails. I did, but my second week workign there, I had to srub the floors. Goodbye, long nails. Now I jus tlet them grow out a litttttle and keep them fairly well shaped.

I've been a big fan of nail art for a few years now. Even considered learning and getting licensed to do them, but the programs my high school was signed up for didn't offer anything nail specific. Closest thing was plain cosmetology, so I decided that when I get enough money I'll just order the stuff and learn on my own. I already know of a rather cheap place to get all the supplies. For the time being I just like to play with simple things(polish and maybe rhinestones) on my natural nails, but I just cut my natural long nails off last night because I broke 2, and it looked really bad to have them like that. Today I'm just wearing cheap french manicure stick ons because I had to go to my brother's graduation. <a href="http://www.himenail.com/"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://www.himenail.com/</a> That place is here in SoCal. It's run by a woman who is from, and actually studied nail art in Japan. One day when I have a reason to, and the money I'd love to get my nails done there. I've been drooling over that salon for a few years now, and the people I've talked to that have gone said it's extremely good, but for the really fancy stuff you can EASILY pay over $100 to have them done. If you can't afford to have them done, this is a great place to buy stick on ones. They last longer, and can be removed when necessary. I had 2 pairs. One got messed up, and the other set is still stored in it's box for special events. <a href="http://www.yukiumi.com/en/index.php"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://www.yukiumi.com/en/index.php</a> Here are the ones I made for my hime themed graduation outfit since the ones I had wanted to order sold out. Yellow roses were hand molded, and everything else was bought. Wow, this morning I chipped some of the green polish that I have on my nails *seen in the pics on the first page* and my boyfriend actually made me sit down and let him re-do the green xD I was like "Wow.. Joey, you're supposed to be a college football player and you're fixing my nails, what would the other players think??" he just laughed at me and said that he was hungry and wanted lunch xD Just figured I'd share that with you guys.. It was so random/shocking

I've always thought the idea of nail art was cool, but I could never do it on myself xD I'd want to, but I haven't been able to stop biting my nails yet

It's such a bad habit, and I dunno how to stop. I can usually stop for a little while and they'll start growing a little, but then I'll start again

BlueIsis - Thank you~ The cheap way is to just buy all the premade stuff for stick ons. Get clear or painted plastic nails, adhesive, polish if necessary, and all kinds of decorations. If you want to do the more permanent stuff that can cost more, you can find all kinds of communities and guides online for beginners. Deco-den guides are also good for getting ideas and learning techniques, though it's for phones instead of nails. For supplies I've heard good things about this place: <a href="http://www.bf-beauty.com/en/index.html"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://www.bf-beauty.com/en/index.html</a>; (located and ships from Hong Kong I believe.) And this girl: <a href="http://fullmoon07xxx.ocnk.net/"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://fullmoon07xxx.ocnk.net/</a>; (I believe she was living in the US, and moved back to Japan awhile ago) Yukiumi is a good place too, but I posted that link in my last post. You could probably find stuff off Esty.com as well. SandyPaws - Do you paint your nails? I stopped biting my nails by putting clear coats of polish on. It tasted bad for me, so eventually I stopped biting them.

I had that same problem and my parents even tried the whole hot sauce thing. Didn't work. Eventually, I took fingernail polish remover and dipped the tip of each of my fingers in it; that way when I bit my nail or put my fingers close to my mouth.. The nail polish remover would get on my lips and in my mouth and it tasted HORRIBLE! I haven't chewed my nails in almost 10 years because of that
