I love these people. (: They're building a house for a family with a little girl that has a neurological issue where she cannot feel pain unless it is much worse than the normal. Because of this neurological issue, her body cannot regulate her body temperature, so the house temp has to be 62* F NORMALLY, even in the winter. She can't go outside. She can't get too hot, or she could die. She can't get too cold, or she could die. If she runs into something, she has to be checked over thouroghly. She has absolutely no room to be a little girl. Her family has also homeschooled them so she can be in a controlled environment. She looks all of 7.
Her hospital bills cost over $500,000 a year, and her home has just been forclosed on. [This illness is hereditary...I forget what it's called though..]
Ty and the EM team [EMT] are building them a house.

Now, -this- is the kind of fundraising I wish schools could do. Help a child with cancer, or with another life threatening illness, instead of for a company. If we could actually educate people on these illnesses and they actually gave a rat's ass, we could help these children and their families. I mean, face it, donating books to a childrens hospital isn't going to help pay the hospital bills. It'll help educate and entertain them.

Anyhow. What do you guys think of EMHD?

 • I don't know if I like EMHD. Why give one needy family a mansion sized fancy house when you can afford to give 2 or 3 needy families average sized, functional homes for the same price? Nonetheless, one is better than none.

The school I went to while I was a freshman did habitat for humanity stuff. Other than finding out the club at our school existed I never really looked into whether they physically went out and helped, or just raised money. I was always more into cleaning up parks and raising money for animals. I think donating books and toys is also very important. Children with really bad diseases like cancer can get stuck in hospitals for months. Those books and toys bring them a little bit of sunshine each day. When my brother and I were really little he had to be in the hospital. The books and toys they gave him made him pretty much forget how scary it was, so his stay there was more enjoyable.
