• I wish they'd stop messing around, and blow the darn thing up. The damage it's causing is completely ridiculous. The only reason they haven't blown it up yet is because that stupid company wants the oil at the cost of millions(if not billions) of environmental damage that is effecting the fisherman and families living down there. I'm so disgusted and disappointed by all of it.
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.
  • I really wish they would to. :|

I feel like the media is blowing this up out of proportion though, I mean, it's bad, yes. But, when it first started leaking they said it was suppose to hit the shores of Alabama 48 hours after - it didn't hit the shores until yesterday or so. Me and my boyfriend took 3 mile walks on the beach and it was GORGEOUS. I just hope they can clean it up before it turns the beaches black and ruins the economy even more so than what it is.
My uncle is suppose to go out there and help clean up, they are apparently paying $15 an hour for the workers to clean up. I think they have/are hiring over 200 people or so, probably more than that I don't remember.
  • Agreed. They say it's gonna hit Florida soon? I friggin LOVE the beaches there! Plus we go to Galveston, TX ( the island where I was born) and swim in the ocean there.. It's so sad that they are ruining all this environment just for some oil we can easily get else where...

The part of Florida I live in, the water was gross before the spill.
We have power plants right next to our beach. XD
But Miami Beach, gorgeous and the Keys.
Personally, I am not an environmentalist (go green, etc.), but I am def animal crazy and I don't want to see the animals dieee.
I read on a website that, because the environmentalist and BP didn't want to drill anywhere else (because it would "ruin our environment") so they kept drilling right there and that was part of the reason for the explosion.
Now weather it's true or not, I don't know. But, it's ridiculous how we can let a group of extremist in any area control our lives. Like what BP is doing now.
  • I have a beach house right along the shore line and i'll tell ya it aint pretty. When you walk outside the smell of oil overwhelms you!
Big Tar balls wash up it's just horrible! My friend quit her job to go help out. It seems like they sre making a bigger deal of this than the earthquake that hit Haiti!
Just a small reply -is still trying to hold in anger-
And I just can't belive people still buy gas from them when there is a shell station right next to it! UGH
