Camera Suggestions

I am upgrading my camera, I was originally going to get a Nikon D40 (I have been wanting one since it came out). But now that the D3000 and other version have been released the only store I have seen it in is BestBuy. (online) Unfortunately, I don't live near a bestbuy. <br>I don't like film, I'm a digital person lol.<br>I'm up for any DSLR professional looking brand. (Not tiny digitals. xD) <br>However, if you know any stores that carry a Nikon D40, please inform me.<br>Other than that, I've heard good things about the Olympus and Cannon - so any input on what type of camera you use would be great. ;D

    Well, If you live near a costco, they may have the D40.<br>Thats what I have. It works amazing.

    Could you order and have one shipped to your home, or somewhere were you can pick the package up(like a friend's/family member's house)? Got a Walmart or similar store near you? They should be able to order it for you, and have it shipped to the store if it's a product they carry. <br><br>As for recommendations, I recommend(by what I've read) the Pentax K-x. I was looking into a new camera since I busted up my old one, and this one fell in my price range. <a href="http://www.tipa.com/english/XX_tipa_awards_2010.php"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">TIPA Gave the K-x the 2010 award for being the best entry level DSLR.</a> Not to mention it comes it many <a href="http://www.pentaximaging.com/slr/"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">colors</a> if black doesn't do it for you. I personally love the white, but might get the orange if I can find a good deal(the new colors were released only a short time ago). The traditional black already has good deals out there though. I'll hopefully be buying one for the summer.

    I recommend Nikon ;P That's what I use, and what I will always use.<br><br>We ordered ours online. It got here safely and we had no issues with it, so you could just order it online somewhere.

    Thing about ordering online though is because I am moving I don't have a bank account open, therefore no card. And I won't until I move. My checks are being cashed through my moms account as of now, and while I could just deposit into her account and transfer to my paypal, she is in the process of switching banks because they suck and it could take weeks before they get it processed.<br>We have a walmart and target less than 30 minutes away - I will go in and check with them but the majority of the Nikons they carry are the newer coolpix's, D3000, D90, etc.
