Recently, I adopted 2 new additions into my family. Here they are!

-Gator-
He is a 1.5 yr. old Blue & Tan Chihuahua. I had to stick with my "Aussie" theme for my dog names. I have a Crikey, Dingo and Joey. He is AKC Registered, but I dont have his papers. His first owners (who have the Reg. Papers) were intending to breed him. The owner was a guy who didnt treat him too good. They had broken his hind legs and his snout. As you can see in the picture, it's kinda crooked. He then went to live with the guy's girlfriend, and they bred him then decided they'd rather just have 2 of his puppies. Thus, they "sold" Gator to me, after I had payed to have his hind legs worked on. The two pups they kept from one of Gator's studded litters was a gorgeous dark chocolate female and a very silvery blue colored male. They decided they'd rather have the puppies than him -_- So I payed for his surgery as they were asking for donations for their "beloved" pet's surgery to "fix him", so I payed for it. They then called me after they had gotten my number from the vet about 2 mo. after he had been given the surgery and healed up, and asked if I'd just like to take him. I payed an additional $100 for him, as this was his "rehoming fee".
My fiance' picked him up on April 30th. His previous "owner's" failed to tell us that he runs off if let off a leash or chain outside. My fiance' then opens the door as we were getting back into the car at the store. And Gator took off. He ran for the owl-infested woods here in Alaska. We thought he was a goner. After trying to catch him for several hours, my fiance' returns to the previous "owners" house, to see if they'd come out and help us look since he was used to them, and not us. They went out for about 10 mins. before giving up. We were out everyday from 4am (when it gets light) to midnight (when it starts getting dark) looking for him. We were even given some live traps by people who were nice enough to help. Had several people out everyday, and had tons of sightings for him. After 3 days and nights in Alaska's owl-infested woods, where the temps. were dropping well down to 10*F, we now have Gator back. Someone had lured him into their car with a female (Gator is intact, and a lover
) then took him to the pound. The pound then called the previous "owners" to come get him, and made them pay $120 since he was intact. They called us and told us they had him, and that we needed to pay the $120 to get him back. By this... You can definitely tell they just wanted the money out of him
I once again paid the $120, after about $1200 for his vet bills, and the other $100 for his "rehoming" fee. But he was so worth it.
He is such a lover. And has a very good mellow temperment. But does like to "spray" and runs off if not on a leash. He does stay around my other dogs, so we havent had him just "take off" on us... Yet :S But he does stay on the chain while Im outside with him just to make sure he's staying around.
<img src="

XD

-Gort-
This handsome fella is my new 25 yr. old Amazon Parrot. Im not sure which species of Amazon he is... But he's sure a handsome little man!
His first owner was an older man who didnt work with him at-all. So Gort is unable to talk. After 17 yrs. his first owner had passed away. Gort then went to the owner's daughter, who didnt want to "deal" with him, and didnt give the attention he needed to him, thus he became very loud. She then put him into a garage for 6 yrs. and kept him covered the entire time so he wouldnt "make noise". The only interaction he got from her was when she would feed or water him. This lead him to plucking out most of his feathers, and has lead to him having the habit of still doing it when he gets stressed or is left alone for quite some-time. Gort then went to his foster mom, who had worked with him, and after 2 mo. was able to finally touch him, and he slowly built up his trust with her. He didnt like his foster mom's husband, or her 2 teenage children, and would bite and draw blood on them. He just wanted to be with his foster mom and not the other people around. They tolerated him though for over a year. But Gort still was very mean and bitter with the other's, other than his foster mom. So they decided it was time to put him up for adoption. I saw Gort on Petfinder the day they had put him up. And after a week of getting things settled with the bird adoption place here in Alaska, and with the foster mom, I was able to get Gort. I paid a $100 adoption fee for him, his HUGE cage, toys, food, dishes, and a wire dog crate.
Now Gort doesnt talk... Human language. But he has his "own" way of talking. He makes noises, and acknowledges that you're talking to him. He will answer back with noises. Laugh with you. And he doesnt like when I talk to other people, so he will try to talk over them or me. He LOVES to laugh at my fiance', and talks over him too. Then when my fiance' tries to talk to Gort... Gort turns around and gives him the cold shoulder. We have fun road trips
If someone is yelling at me, Gort will yell at them. He has yet to let me hold him, however, I've only had him for about a week, and have done more with him, than his foster mom did with him in an entire year. He LOVES to have me pet him, rub his feet, he talks to me all the time, and hates when I leave the room, and will "yell" for me. Then when it's time to go to bed, he "cries". He is such an awesome little man, and Im so glad I was able to add him to my family
