He's My ginger Friend

Okay, so I have my buddy. I call him Simba and Ginger and My Ginger Friend. Because he has FLAMING RED HAIR and a Beard to match. Simba- he has SUPER long hair and it looks like a lions main and simba had red hair in Lion King SO.... I call him that in zero hour, when I have AP English. In First Hour, I make jokes in front of the whole class about his gingerness. In Third hour, I tell him he has no soul or emotions. In sixth hour there is girl with DYED red hair, and she seems to think I mean this a an assualt against all Gingers (which she is technically not, since she DYES HER HAIR RED). And SO she goes off on me, calling me a racist (despite the fact that I give Simba here candy and gum like, three times a day and tell him he's my favorite ginger friend). She gets all offended. While My Ginger Friend Laughs and Laughs. Because NO ONE else takes me seriously. Because I'm not being serious. I love Ginger's ginger Lion Mane. It's all Coppery and Golden. And my biological father has red hair and freckles and pale skin.

I think she just wants to be offended.

I dye my hair red. Coppery red is my favorite, but my hair is a little bit dark at the moment. It's so gorgeous in my opinion. I've never had someone make fun of me for it , but I have had people believe it is my real color(which is actually so dark that it's almost black). Doesn't bother me if people make fun of red hair because I'm not a natural red head, and it's silly to get all huffy-puffy over it. Making fun of red hair is not racist, though it could be considered prejudice/discrimination, which can get you in trouble if the girl gets mad enough to go to a school official. Yeah, she probably does just wants to start something, but I'd suggest keeping it between friends in the future, so nothing bad happens to you and no one gets offended.

Someone is always offended, don't read to much into it. "Ginger" isn't an ethnicity. xD It's just red hair, pale skin with freckles. My dad is a ginger (though I happen not to be) and he never is offended by ginger things. It's the people around who seem to be more offended. I agree, some people look to be offended. xD Your Simba buddy sounds cool! xD

I think it's funny becaus eI also tell him, openly in class that I miss him, and that I make fun of him to hide my true feelings for him. ((That I am secretly in love with him)) That goes unnoticed by the girl though. I think it's funny that NO ONE in my AP classes cares/ thinks anything of it But some junior in my blow off class is pitching a fit.

There are a few people in my school that have red hair they actually answer to "Hey Ginger!" xD The one is like "That teacher doesn't like me cause im a ginger!" People in my school could careless being called gingers xDD Gingers are prettyy coooool

Totally, this guy mooches gum off me everyday (and candy when I have it, as well as drinks) I just can't stand how this girl seems to think I mean anythign about her. She's more tan than me! (which isn't hard, I like, glow in the dark, because My BIOLOGICAL FATHER IS A GINGER) She's a jerkkkk

I'm -auburn- yet I still cop all the 'ginger' jokes... Now here in Australia redheads are called "ranga's" coming from orangutans, so it's slightly worse... 90% of people are just joking, but they're are those who take it to the next level.. Luckily for me it's just all joking, but there are certain jokes I get a tad ticked off about because they're targeted at me and I'm not even ginger

Some girls standing behind me the other day were having a discussion about redheads and how if they get so offended they should just dye their hair. I was so tempted to turn around and say we shouldn't have to dye our hair because some people are bullying us :evil: it was ridiculous that they should think that. Now that was something that would offend most redheads. From what you've said you made it really clear that you were joking which I have no problem with and that girl really shouldn't of, she was most likely just attention seeking.

...yeah, I would not want to be referred to as an orangutan. That is definitely more extreme than the term ginger in my opinion. Try not to feel so bad...though it would be hard to do that if someone called you an orangutan...I'm kind of stuck here. Auburn hair is absolutely gorgeous! I wish it was my natural color!! Redheads are known for plenty of good things too, like strong, fiery personalities(I find it a positive...but maybe some don't)! I'm quite shy so when people think my red hair means I'm more bold and sassy, it gives me a little confidence to break out of my shell(which just happened today!). Queen Elizabeth I(<3) was an amazing redhead, along with other figures.
