For me, a tablet is essential in that I tend to become anxious and stressed by sketching traditionally. With a digital piece, if you have to erase, no problem. If you have to shift a line, no problem. I think that digital art and traditional art, while related on the foundations of basic anatomical skill and technique, are also two distinctly DIFFERENT art forms. But that's just my opinion.
