Unfairness torwards Dogs

So long story short my dog was trying to play wiht this little jack russel today and nipped at him. Tail wagging and all, but he ended up biting him a little. It barely broke the skin, but now everyone is freaking out and treating Herbie like a monster. It isn't fair, I don't think he meant to hurt him, the dog egged him on and Herbie has never done anything like this before.

    I don't think it's fair that your dog is suddenly a vicious monster, when people don't even know your dog's personality, or what really happened. Please be careful though. Some places are really strict about dog bites, and if the owner got all angry and ran up a vet bill, you could be stuck paying it.<br><br> I went to a charity walk once, and dogs were invited. I took a little girl pomeranian I used to have and one of the ones I still have. Pumpkin, the girl pom, was tethered in a dog bag until the walk started. Pumpkin was a little scared, but loving the attention when people would pet her, but then then the little granddaughter of my mom's coworker tried to suddenly yank Pumpkin out of the bag by her feet. Pumpkin could have bitten the little girl for 2 reasons; 1. it scared her to have her feet yanked. 2. It scared her because no one had unlatched her first, which prevented her from being taken out of the bag. The little girl was bawling so loud, and there was a small scratch. I was beyond embarrassed and angry as dozens of people stared at, and avoided us the rest of the event. The little girl is apparently notorious for getting dogs to bite her(I didn't learn this until after the event), so I don't know why her grandmother wasn't watching her at an even filled with dozen's of dogs! It was not fair that Pumpkin, and Prince were being looked at as bad dogs, because of some stupid girl that should have been on her own leash!
    I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.
