She hurts easier and after not even 3 minutes of fast walking, she was already panting a bit. She used to be able to withstand HARSH, LONG exercises. But she's slowing down. She'll be about ten in May, which is older for a large dog, but not overly old. While I was jogging her, there was a two foot log ahead of us. I knew she could get over it, but I slowed down in front of it to give her time to leap.

Turns out, her hip has been worse than I thought. She slipped and fell on it about two months ago, and it should've healed well (just a weak muscle I suppose), but it definitely affected her jumping. I had to lift her over the log, poor girl. You should've seen the almost-embarrassed look in her eyes. She was very disappointed to not be able to leap that log. She tried very hard.

But it just makes me remember all her younger, more active days and makes me smile.
I'm so happy I was lucky enough to spend most of my life with Molly. Through her ups and downs, she's taught me many lessons, and gave me many laughs. Instead of being sad about her getting old, I'm actually very happy she's been a healthy, jolly dog her ENTIRE life.

This is why I love my dog.
