Is there a difference if someone tells you that they

"Love you."

or

"I'm in love with you."

?
What are all you guys' opinions? :)

 • Love you is general, could just be saying it as a goodbye.

Im in love with you is to the point and is clear that they love you and are nto just saying goodbye.

But then again it depends on the person.
 • Huge ginormo difference. Won't type everything cause I'm on my iPod but... Yeah love you can mean as friends, boyfriend girlfriend or whateve but being in love with someone is alot different than just loving them...

 • Thats what I thought too. ^_^
Just curious what everyone thinks.

One of my friends thinks its the same thing. So there could be many views on it. :)
 • I think each has their own unique meaning depending on the individual. Words are just words. The only way they gain value is by what we attach to them.

To me both can mean the same thing, but express formality, or both could mean different things(such as what was already suggested). It's best to ask for clarification if someone says either, and you are unsure of what they mean.
