So I am pretty sure I will be getting a laptop from walmart within a week. Anyway, what brands do you guys recommend? And other tips please? :P

Sorry, but I have to disagree! I had 2 mac laptops, and 2 mac desktops. ALL 4 HAVE BEEN AMAZING! They are REALLY easy to use, because they have a bar across the bottom with different pics for each application. Also, there's no set up required. Mine have NEVER had a bug, nor do they just shut off for no reason, EVER. Just saying, bigger bang for your buck. And photo booth is SO MUCH FUN! GO MACS! EDIT: And btw, I'm not a spoiled little rich kid. My first laptop was a really old hand-me-down from my dad. The second one was my dad's, but I borrowed it temporarily because my 1st desk top was getting kind of slow after around 8 years. That too, was a hand-me-down form my dad.The 4th, my current desk top, IS my own though. (My dad works from home, so we (me and my brother) get the older ones after he "needs" a new one.

Actually, my boyfriend has a mac and it sucks, it lags and his shut off for no reason and he lost all his school work for college. The sound stopped working and he can't download barley anything on it, he can't use any type of chat thing (AIM) or it lags, he can't play video games, and he's had it only a year I think. But, my grandma has had the same Toshiba for years and it is amazing! I am also getting a Toshiba from my boyfriends dad I'm excited, because I hate my current laptop. XD

I had a Dell, It Worked great till like 5/6 years then it started slowing down and after 6 and half years its hard drive failed

I suggest you stay away from Velocity i think thats what ti was. It didn't even last a year!

My... $1500ish Dell laptop is amazing. It's about six years now and runs great. It's an older version, very heavy but very nice. I love it. It's currently not working right now because I screwed up the cord to charge it and now it won't charge. We just have to get a new cord (or possibly get it sautered [sp?] for $100... but that's hardly anything for a good, expensive laptop to be fixed.) It never randomly shut off on me, but the battery didn't last more than an hour when I didn't have it plugged in. Other than that, it was great. Never froze up and ran smoothly!

I just recently purchased a 13 inch MacBook Pro, and personally, I LOVE it. It's amazing.

I.hate.Acer.laptops. -0- I would never recommend an Acer. Go with HP or Toshiba. (; Or a Mac! 8D

I've been wanting either a Dell or a Sony Vaio. Right now I have the old Vaio -_- but it works pretty good. Personally, I don't recommend Toshiba. My mom has one and it's pretty slow and sometimes does things you don't tell it to >_> but yeah.

Soo... buffy has 3 desktops and 4 laptops in my house... i absolutely love my acer. it was cheap and has been an excellent quality computer, i have never had an issue with it. all the others are dells, and my family tends to have issues with them, they were alot more expensive than mine and tend to be a pain in my ass when i have to go fix them. so personally, i would buy an acer. but that's just me.

Hp, for sure

All my family have moved to these laptops now from dell's and acers and they're wayyyy better (in our opinions) xP But in the end it's down to the details, processors, RAM etc etc. I highly reccomend doing your research before buying and making sure you get -exactly- what you want. For example, I looked for a fast processor and large memory and wallah I bought a HP Pavilion dv5 and havn't looked back :P So don't buy for the fanciest looks or if they say it's the best, look yourself and ignore whatever the salesperson says if you think they're wrong, cause they probably are xP

Dell or HP IMHO. My mom has a Toshiba I believe, and it's okay, but a little slow. However, that may be Vista's fault. Have you considered a netbook? I love my little netbook. I have the Acer Aspire One 10 inch in white. It's light weight and actually fits in my small shoulder bag. I've had zero problems with it, and no complaints on performance. I use it in college and it's perfect. I can type up homework in bed(lol), and unlike my past experiences with laptops my netbook stays cool to slightly warm, even after hours of uses.

HOKAY SO! Mac haters, you fail. xP Macs are awesome, but they don't sell them at Walmart. xD I don't recommend Toshiba, it has low ratings. I have a Dell desktop, and have sworn to never own another Dell. HP is awesome, but I've never actually owned one. I have a 3 year old Acer laptop, and I absolutely love it. I'm getting a new one, same model, just a newer version as soon as I get paid this week. I recommend Acer. They're a good deal for the amount of RAM/hard drive space you get and with Windows 7, they run pretty quick. I'm getting the 16.5 inch with built in web cam, 250GB hard drive and 3GB RAM for $329. Compaq also has a nice laptop at Walmart, but it doesn't hold as much. The Acer gives you more room for downloads, if you're planning on putting stuff on it.

I'm a true blue Apple fan all the way. I would never buy another brand MP3 player, an if I could afford the Mac now, I'd get it. I've been promised the 17" Macbook Pro for graduation, so till then, the Acer will suffice.

O.O $329.. I want to go to america just to get a laptop! You couldn't even get a teeny tiny crappy laptop for that price here! Good laptops are around $1500 o.o Mine was around 1k.. originally 1.6k but it was a -holds breath- returned to store then to HP to be fixed then back to the store as display model. -phew- It also had a scratch and a slightly loose compartment but none of that matters to me

nothing is wrong with my baby xD Except that it's still called 'Alex' from the first owner despite us returning it to factory settings and changing everything >.< The thing I love about Mac's is Garage Band xD I wish you could get it for a PC... can you?

Forever. It would have like rainbow vertical flashing lines on the monitor because the display driver would quit working. Don't know why. Dad bought it at Costco and they extended the warranty for him, so we got it fixed at no cost. I don't think that this is limited to HP laptops though. If you get a laptop, get fans for it too. They heat up so easily especially when you set it to high performance..and don't put them on your lap in bed unless you have a big book under them or something. I like mine. Took a couple days to get used to the keyboard. Oh, did I mention when it died, it eated up everything, pictures, written documents, movies, EVERYTHING off my computer? Now it's like brand new. Unreal. That was really frustrating.

I've heard everything good about Mac desktops but I don't know about Mac laptops.

The only thing I didn't like about my Dell I have is about two weeks after having it the hard drive died. Like, I have no idea why. I was very annoyed. But I called Dell and they were super nice, and very concerned and I had a brand new hard drive the very next morning:]] They called me back, and even explained how to install it. Haven't had any problems since. It's a Inspiron, 500GB memory and 4GB RAM, wide screen, with all the extras and I got it for 500 bucks. It's battery lasts 7 hours. It's great.

My toshiba was AMAZING! but i spilled orange soda all in it Dx and had to get a different one that i HATE! Cant wait to have my toshiba back. It's a great brand =D Also i argee with reina, keep sumthing under it. i have a scar on my leg from my laptop getting hot and burning my leg =( get a fan for it so it wont over heat.

lol! That's what kind I have, I've only had it for a few months though. Mine has a blu-ray player and touch-sensitive buttons for volume/play/pause/etc and all kinds of other un-needed crap on it though xD

I have the Acer Aspire I like it. I have had two Dell Inspirons in the past. And to be perfectly honest they weren't worth the money. both had Charging problems. one had a mouse pad problem. Battery recognition problems. BlahBlah I've had my Acer for almost a year now No problems.
