Arr they are cuties! Do you know how old they are?
I got my pair of female ratties about this time a year ago! Theyre called Sam and Ella! They are so much fun, you will love your girls if theyre anything like mine! So crazy and funny you cant help but think they are adorable.. even when theyre eating everything you own!
Hope you think of a name for your all black girlie soon!
I named the black one Dizzy.

I'm not quite sure how old they are. Next time I go to the petstore (hopefully today; we're thinking of picking up one more female from the same litter! ), I will ask. I can't believe I forgot to ask before; it's something really important...

Anyway. Yes, I think they're darling. They love to sit in my pockets! Angel is a little more comfortable around me than Dizzy, but I'm holding, petting, and socializing with them an equal amount.

Sam and Ella are adorable names! I was thinking of naming one of mine Sam, lol, but it didn't suit either one. My mother wanted to name one Jenny and was pretty disappointed when I said neither looked like a Jenny. That's why she'd like to get another one; the last female from the litter... and albino girl! I'd be delighted to own three little girls! I'm so lucky to have been able to get even two.

I am loving the girls SO much though. I waited two months to get rats, and boy, did that waiting ever pay off! It's super great to own them. Angel is very affectionate already and likes to lick my fingers. As for Dizzy, she's still settling... but doing very well at it.
Yes, I did!

Buttons?! OMG. That is the cutest name for a hamster... ever! You'll definitely have to take lots of pictures and show your little hammy off to us VP'ians. What kind are you planning on getting? Ooh! Get a teddy bear hamster! They're the sweetest... and super fluffy and they get a bigger size than normal hamsters. They're really cuddly, but when I had mine he was really lazy. Lmao.

I love teddy bears, but I plan on getting a Campbell's Russian dwarf hamster. XD
Butttt, I'll probably get both. 8D
I am also getting a GSD puppy.

/off topic

It's a cute name, I love it.

Avla;
GSD?! Dude. I am so jealous. They're like my favorite breed of dog. I wish I could get one. I also really want the 3-5 year old Rottie mix at our local pound, but I already own three dogs... ):

Same here, I'm not sure if I am going to adopt or buy from a breeder yet.
I hate getting attached to animals you can't have, especially when they are in shelters. Dx
Ratties would be soo cute if you could cut off their tails =P
i hate rat tails, they're just gross.
i think imma get a guinea piggeh sometime before long :P

but congrats on the girls they are adorable (minus the tails)
Avla; Shelter dogs are a hard decision. You gotta find the right one. And, it's true, sometimes you can't have them.

Buffy; Their tails are actually nice and smooth as of right now. I LOVE their tails. I love how when you pick them up, they wrap their tail around you wrist for balance and to help feel safe and secure. It feels so neat!

Guinea pigs have never interested me. xD They're so skittish. But, I love the long-haired ones! They make me laugh because they're sorta funny looking in a very adorable way.
Yay! You finally got them~
I honestly don't know which one I find cuter! Both look really young to me. You'll be surprised at how big and filled out they get in a few months.

My best guess for color would be an mismarked bareback agouti and black self. Hooded would involve black stripe down the spine.

They have tailless rats. I remember when I first saw them at an AFRMA show. It was quite amusing.
I personally like tails though.
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.

True words, it's been hard finding the right one after Kimble. But me and my boyfriend are gonna go to Animal Shelters this coming up month and look around.
Guinea pigs are annoying. XD
Prince Sushi; I figured I got the colors wrong. I knew hooded involved more of the color going down the back, but I kept calling Angel a hooded rat because I didn't know her real color. xD As for Dizzy, her color seems simple! But, I forgot to add that she's all black with a little white heart-shape on her chest... that might change her color...

Rats without tails would creep me out! xD ...their tails complete them in a way. I love them.

And I honestly cannot wait for my girls to get bigger! Sure, they're cute now, but I'd love for them to grow big and not get lost in their big cage. xD

Avla; It sounds like you and your boyfriend were very attached to Kimble, and it's extremely unfortunate that he was adopted out to another family. I hope the best for you guys! I know you'll pick out a dog just as great.
Oh, Dizzy would probably be a black English Irish then, and I agree about the tails. It wouldn't creep me out, but it's just not the same anymore. It's hard to explain, but we seem to have the same agreement. lol.

We got our third female! She's an albino with red eyes of course. Her name's Jenny. I'll get some pictures posted later today hopefully. I'm so happy!

Your new girly is a cutie. They make such a cute trio.
REWs always seem skittish to me. I've heard it is because their vision is slightly worse(rats have pretty bad vision to begin with though). She should warm up to you in no time though. Most rats are so affectionate.

 They're SO CUTE! I had like 5 rats at one time, they're great little critters! They have no attitude whats so ever and they're always so loving and livley!

I have 9 Campbell Dwarf Hamsters right now, and 3 Syrians (teddy bear/black bear ect. are pet names for them!) and I'm getting 3 more on Saturday!! I love rodents, they're so easy to take care of and it amazes me that something so small can have such an adorable personality and leave paw prints on your heart forever!!
IF I OWE YOU MONEY FOR BANNERS PLEASE MESSAGE ME I WILL GET THE CONTRACT TO YOU TOMORROW EVENING!!
I LOVE them, they're SO cute! I love rats, they have such great personalities. My good friend still has one, do you have any intentions on reproducing in the future?

I might breed rats when I'm much older, yes.
But as of right now, I am still living with my parents and only have room for one cage and three rats. xD If I were to breed, I'd need three cages. Males, Females, and 'Nursery' cages. I'd also have to read up a lot more on breeding, because as of right now, I don't need to so I haven't put much effort into it yet. Surely I will look more into it in the future though, when I am moved out and have the space and cages for a breeding set up. Plus, I'm a new rat owner. I've only had my girls for about a month -- if that.

Rats are terrific. Very smart, gentle, and extremely adorable. I love watching them run around on my bed, exploring everything. And when they go too far or look like they're trying to squeaze into a nook, I just snap my fingers and they go running into their 'safety zone' (AKA shelter/hidey-hole). Then two minutes later, they're off exploring again, but where they should be, not where they shouldn't be. They catch on very quickly. Out of my three rats, the one most interested in interacting with me is Dizzy. She'll come running up to me and lick my fingers and try to climb onto my shoulder. Angel is in her own world and likes to chew random toys and slink around the objects around her, coming up to me randomly but not as often as Dizzy. Jenny, on the other hand, is quite timid. I do have to note that she's ruby-eyed and they tend to be more skittish. She likes to stay in the hidey-hole/shelter or at least near the whereabouts of the hidey-hole/shelter. When I'm holding her, though, she seems quite calm and content, as long as she's close.
Rat babies are very very fun to have and to take care of. The mom has to be fed a lot of protein and such, so it's kind of a big responsibility. I've had 13 rats at once, but that was including the babies. :P Now we're down to 4.
GORGEOUS!

I know someone on another forum who is breeding fancy mice, and has breed a brindle/tiger striped one and one that is orange.
She's gonna breed blue brindles this year, so when you start breeding hook me up. xD
I would love to see some brindle rats.
Thanks Tiff! And guess what? I got two new girls! They are older, and quite a bit bigger, and such adorable things. They were given free by a petstore employee, cage and all. Only problem is their cage is much too small even for one rat... so I need to learn all about socializing and rat introductions so they can meet my much smaller three girls and live happily in one big cage... Wish me luck!

(I will post pictures of the two new girls sometime later today!)
