Wtf?

(4t^3 + 2) x (3t^5 + 7)

When am I ever going to use this?
They're easy as hell, but still... They're pointless.

I understand math is all about learning problem solving skills, but if that's the case, don't grade so roughly! Damn.

Probably the easiest thing I'm going to learn all year.

[I would've added this onto my vent on Microsoft and IBM, but the editing button isn't there anymore... ;-;]

 • Hahaha! That's what I said when I was in Pre-Calc. I had a horrible case of Senioritis and got a D. Golly!!! My first D in my LIFE! So.... I dropped the class. It was the best decision of my life - thus far. lol

So... yeah. Math sucks.
 • I totattly understand. I take gemometry. Tell me when the hell in life does a drummer need to find out the length of a triangle bisector? xD

 • I find most math completely useless. What the hell am I ever going to use some of it for? I understand multiplication, addition, division, and subtraction being extremely important because it's -always- being used, but some of this crap is useless. Honestly useless. Unless you're going to become a math teacher or scientist. xD I actually would love to learn about accounting etc. (what's that kind of math called?) so that I can learn to spend and save my money wisely - but that's useful math.
 • Accounting? o.0

I took accounting and its more about business things than personal. Maybe you should try a personal finance class. I know we have one at our school but I dont know about yours.

And accounting is basic arithmetic most the time. But.. most people use excel or quickbook and that will do the math for you. xD

I gotta agree though with this. Math is kinda pointless after 7th grade! :D

 • .....I love math.

However, with math it just depends on what you are going to do. In college I'm already loading up all the hard sciences like various types of biology, and chemistry classes, and they take very difficult math. Students that didn't like math, or hadn't taken it in 10 years really struggled, and thus turned to students like me that liked it or had recently had it.

I have to agree with tarnish and Garfieldz Gal, take a personal finance/business math/accounting class. In my senior year I was required to take one more math class, but they didn't offer anything high enough to put me into, so I went into business math because it fit my schedule. I hated the idea of it at first, but by the 2nd week I was hooked harder than you can imagine. My class taught things like paying bill, paychecks, taxes, balancing a checkbook, keeping inventory, buying a car, stock, rates, buying insurance, premiums, etc. All of it was useful, and will be useful to me for the rest of my life, no matter what profession I go into. By the end of the class you actually feel like you come out with something, instead of the whole "when am I ever going to use this in life" feeling.

 • Sushi, I get what you're saying, the thing is, they give you this for problem solving skills.
Why are they grading so roughly? Some things I know you're going to use, but learning formulas for multiplying twin binomials and whatever, I'm never going to use that in my life.
