..in my opinion is just an excuse for card and chocolate companies to make more money, waste ink on a calendar, and make otherwise happily single people miserable. Everyone's all HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! I LOVE TODAY! I LOVE YOU! Good God almighty. I hate Valentine's Day. If two people truly love each other, they express it every day, a day doesn't need to be set aside for it. That's what birthdays are for. -_-

To be honest, Valentines day is like any regular day for me. Actually.. everyday is regular for me. Even my birthday. Unless we get off from school, I dont really care =PP And being single isn't a big deal. A lot of women send themselves flowers. You don't -need- someone for that day, contrary to what a lot of people seem to believe.

It's not that I feel like I need someone, I have someone. I just hate the hype it gets. xD People make it this ridiculously huge day and it's just not a big deal.

And it does get quite a hype which is why I say that I feel its like a normal day and part of the hype is people thinking they need someone to be with or they are a loser or something o.0

Being slightly happily single, I couldn't agree more =P Luckily, we have no school. People on V-day at school are ridiculously over enthusiastic about it, and it really does drain people like me. :roll:

My grandma bought me a big bag of chocolate kisses =P mom and dad bought me candy hearts like every year. I've got a -slightly- obsessive friend that bought me stuff that i haven't received yet. but as tarn said, it's about the same as any other day. half of the population loves it, the other half hate it.

I actually enjoy valentine's day......not as a big/important holiday, just as a cute little fun thing to celebrate. I get candy and give my family cards, one year we made a pizza shaped like a heart. I'm single and happy, but it doesn't just have to be about boyfriends/girlfriends....just a special day to tell someone you love them.

Valentines day is a dedication to love. Just like mothers day is dedicated to mothers. Just because we have mothers day doesn't mean I don't love my mom any less on a regular day, it's just a day dedicated to moms, as valentines day is dedicated to love. I find holidays like presidents day pointless...xD

Talking about President's Day, we have school tomorrow... x.x Stupid Carolinian's and their inability to plan for snow. :P But, I agree with Alva. It's just a holiday. Like how President's Day is dedicated to 'appreciating' our presidents, and whatnot.

I hate Valentines Day. Since I spend every year sitting at home eating heart shaped pizza and whishing I had made plans with my friends. Who are to buy being all mushy gushy I love my boyfriendy. I feel bad since Ive never dated. It makes me feel serverly outcasted. I heard that 80% of women hate Valentines Day. I can only imagine how many men must hate it then. I declare we just erase it from our calendars and lives forever.

I didn't do anything for Valentines day, lol. I went to church and volunteered in the Sunday school room, and then I went home and babysat for my neighbor's kids. that's it XD we were supposed to have tomorrow off school but we don't now because it snowwwed D;

It's not that we have an inability to plan for snow, we just never get it so there's no point in having cushion days for it. In my 17 years I've only seen snow big enough to keep us out of school -maybe- 6 times. Seen snow that has actually stuck no more than that. And President's Day isn't pointless, neither is Valentine's Day. It's not that they're pointless, it's just people obsess over Valentine's Day, and hardly anyone knows who or what the original Valentines were.

Eh, I'd honestly rather make up a day here and there than have to go extra days at the end of the year. xD But your county stays out a lot more than mine does. Our county is so big that the south half won't have anything, but we do up here, but we still have school. I guess that's an advantage. Hallmark doesn't need commercials either. -eye roll-

You have a point there. Haha. My county overreacts at -everything-. It's hilarious. I mean, just have maybe half days at the end of the school year that we would only use if it snowed, or some other weather-like "terror" that these southerners seem to take it as. None of the big stores really need commercials. It's like Macy's during Thanksgiving/Christmas/other holiday. You're one of the biggest department stores in the USA, why are you making commercials for stuff? And everyone knows about your parade... /minirant
