Highlight of my Day (:

Well, I'm home sick today (not too sick, just bad stomach and sore throat).

Max, my Kelpe/Sheltie mix was looking outside, whining. I guessed he wanted out to go pee, so I decided that I'd let him out, along with my 8 month old Shih-tzu/Poodle/Cocker Spaniel.

I was hesitant to let them out once I got to the French doors and looked out to see Molly, my/my grandpa's Pit Bull/Rhodie cross. She hasn't been allowed to be out with the other two dogs due to pulling a muscle in her leg. She's been limping a lot, so we assume it might happen again even after it's fully healed, meaning she wasn't allowed to play with her dog siblings for a while.

I gave it some thought and I think she's been waiting long enough. Her limp isn't as bad and she's gotten a lot of her energy back again. So I made Max & Sayge sit down and wait for their turn to go outside. Max went out first (he was calm first) and I WISH you could've seen the Molly's face light up. She got down in the playbow position (which she rarely does anymore) and, from what I can tell, she SMILED! :D It was the highlight of my day to see her so happy.

Max gave the same excited gesture back before bolting towards her and leaping all over her. Sayge followed and got all excited too. Molly was actually excited to play with Sayge, too, which is odd because Sayge's behavior annoys her very much a majority of the time.

I hope your dog smiles today. (: It's the best sight in the world!

 • xD Well, Molly's a grump now that she's older so it's not expected for her to be excited about getting to play. :P
 • xD My lab/dobie/dalmatian(yes, feel sorry for me) mix smiles all the time. Not on command. None of us have ever told her to smile. Wolfs in the wild smile to express happiness. It's natural! Only some domesticated dogs do it though. Pay closer attention and you'll prolly catch her doing it again! 8D
