Back Pains

edited December 2009 in General Discussion
This year my back pains have increased to the point it feels like there is a 50 pound rock sitting on top of my back.
I don't believe it is spinal related, I get huge knots on the right mid to lower side of my back. Massages do not work, the knot builds right back up after, the only thing that works is if I lay down or take some advil (which is not always avaliable for me to take/do when I am on the go.)
It usually happens when I sit or stand for long periods of time.
Would anyone know what it would be related to?
And does anyone else experience back pains like this?
What do you do to relieave it?

 • If I stand for long periods of time, I get the same way. Not quite sure what solves it, but sometimes sitting helps, and if it doesn't, then I usually just end up having to suck it up and wait til I can lay down. ><

 • After a 10 minute search it looks as though it deals a lot with posture. ._.
 • I have back problems too. One thing that helps lots of water, also sit nicely and not leaning over etc. Another thing exerisineing the abs work but dont do it on the floor do it o some padded yoga mat and do sit ups and if you want a list of good eercises let me know i was in dance this year and I found my back is so much better than what it was just with what I've been doing. Also one thing (I'm not saying you do or anything) but you may need to look into a new bra or something because sometimes that helps if you "you know whats" are to big. Maybe thats the problem?
 • Try standing with your back to a wall, the heels of your feet about a foot length from the wall. Then lean back until the small of your back is against the wall. Now slowly lean forward in a kinda rolling movement, letting your head drop, then your shoulder and on down, but keep your back against the wall. When the stretching gets to where it usually hurts, hold it for a while, then drop your shoulders on down and then back up.
