Lyc's first banner :) remake

Ok, so this is my first attempt on trying to make a banner. I use Adobe Photoshop Element 6, I still have no clue how everything works. So, messing around with the program for over an hour, I made this. I love the rainbow effect . love love love it o.o but , the text should be more .. i dunno .. interesting ? && I think more pictures or just not centered one would make it look nice . also a thin, thin black border . but over all , I LOVE it .

Download more fonts from dafont.com , because text spices up a graphic. (: Text is -really- important. Also, I don't think you should do "vertical" text, and just stick with plain ol' horizontal, although vertical text is fine.

Personally, I think more pictures or a different way to crop the picture would've been more interesting. Border would be nice, too. ;] 1px black.

&& I personally like banners that are around the size : 450x150, or other smaller sizes. ^_^ Overall, it's pretty good for your first banner. ^_^ I'm sorry if I was too harsh

Mondy: hahaha thank you Mondy!

The rainbow effect is like my favorite part! Yeah, looking at it now, the font does need to be more interesting. I know, i don't like how it's in the center, I figure out how to move it to the side but the rainbow effect turns into a double rainbow effect. Like, the guy will have a rainbow effect on his face and there's a rainbow effect on the background. I couldn't figure it out, how to keep it to one rainbow effect like in the banner. I don't know how to add a black border, I mean, I couldn't find the button/option to add the border

Bluey: Ok, that's the website I was looking for! lol I couldn't remember the name of the website to download the fonts. I have way too many boring fonts. Okie dokie, I will stick to horizontal text, but having his name vertical seemed pretty cool. I didn't like how "forever or never" came out vertical, and I was too lazy to turn it to horizontal. And thinking about it now, horizontal is more likely the better way to go lol

Ok, I'll try smaller size banners and see how those turn out. Thank you so much bluey!

On Photoshop, when you're done with the banner, this is how to make a border. [or at least how I make one (:] 1. Make a new layer 2. Select -> All or Ctrl+A 3. Edit -> Modify -> Border 1px ....that's what I remember. xDD Erm.. if that's wrong, I'm sorry, but my memory has been going poof for a while.

Yay!! It worked, the only difference was that the border thing wasn't under the Edit tab. I hit Command+A (same as Ctrl+A), clicked on the Select tab, Modify, add border.

That's right ! And then you go to Edit - Fill to make it black. (:

I love the new version . It's amazingly prettyful:D now all it needs is some brushes to spice it up , and it'd be an amazing firsttime banner xD .

I dont use photoshop -- I use G.I.M.P. ((and I myself can't even figure out brushes for that o.O)) but I think with photoshop you just go to deviantart.com and search brushes , then download .

Oh geeze, umm to add brushes to Photoshop you extract them from deviantart or wherever using WinZip, and add it to your Photoshop brushes folder. Okay, I make no sense whatsoever. xD Just gewgle tutorials on how to download brushes into PS ____ [whichever version you have]
