Photography Competition [img heavy]

Ok, my school is having a photo compy, and I have -no- chance of winning, cause of all the amazing 18yr olds entering xD<br><br>-edit- I forgot to say, the first prize (only one prize sadly..) Is a movie camera ^.^ -/edit-<br><br>The theme is 'enviroment' and these are a few past ones that I have taken..     Thanks Guys ^.^ & Clozo, Ive cropped it, thanks for the advice :mrgreen: any other tips, from any other person would be greatly appreciated.

    Turtle needs cropping too. And the one beneath that.. I'm not sure but I think it'd be nice without the clouds near the top (could always save two versions). My favorite would have been the fishie if it didn't turn blurry. Where'd you take it? <br><br>And nice so far :D <br><br>ps. the bird on the wine glass reminds me of this one restaurant in south carolina. ^-^

    <br><br>*cough* it was a beer glass xD<br><br>Oh, and the fish, it was at a sealife center, where they re-habilitate seals & turtles and stuff, I think they also take in fish that owners dont want anymore, Ima try and sharpen it.. if I can xD<br><br>& I like the sunsets as well, but I need something to stand out with.. And I think there will be lots of sunsets.. xD

    Oh, sorry xD It looked like a wine glass from where it cut off<br><br>Yeah there are a lot of sunsets. Hmm not sure what to do about those. <br><br>That's cool about the sealife thing. We don't have those around here, at least I don't believe we do. <br><br>Too bad this wasn't later in the year because in January I'll be in photoraphy class and able to help you more xD

    mm.. Thanks Tarn & Sunny ^.^ It was taken during the summer, and I didnt really expect to use them for something like this.. so it was just a quick snap of a fish.. I tried sharpening it.. but it only went sharp at high pixels.. and then it went funny colors, so the judge would be like 'this is edited, FAIL' :lol:

    Are you not supposed to edit the photos for the contest?<br><br>And the only picture I took for art was <a href="http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc278/Skaitie/done.png"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">this</a><br><br>So I dont know much what I'm doing xD<br><br>Im guessing you used a regular digital camera?

    mm.. I dont actually know :? I wouldnt think so though.. (and it was like, bright purple, red & white xD) & yeah, it was a 10mp kodak.. If I go travelling on a gap year, Im gonna buy a proper one. I dont think it agreed with the lighting in the tank xD

    Ahh on my plain old digital camera, when I turn the flash off it blurrs real easily if I move a fraction of an inch. And I would just stick to what you have unless you can find something really cheap or plan on persuing something in photography. ;D<br><br>Good luck on the contest. :D

    The bird, I think, portrays the environment.<br>You could read it symbolically, with its meaning being that the humans have completely destroyed habitats and now once free and happy creatures must adapt to living within a human-dominated environment. :)<br><br>If you have to attach a paper/paragraph/written piece to your photo, that would work great. :)<br><br>That, and the bird is the only one that seems to be in focus. <br>The rest you would have to work a little on making it un-blurry lol. :)<br>definitely not the first one unless you feel like cutting out the bushes lol.<br><br>OH! And for an added touch, try shifting them to B&W see if they make more a statement that way. Idk, I always think that B&W make greater statements. :D<br><br>Hope I helped!

    hm.. Thanks Piper ^.^ I dont think we need a statement.. I might ask tomorrow. The bird does seem the most popular. Im going to ask my family tonight. Here is the bird in B&W.     yeah, I agree, though It was worth a try Piper, thanks ^.^ I just put out some bread in hope of a bird, but its winter, so most of them will of flown south xD But you never know, I could capture a stray Robin =D
