Oh no!

My two dogs eat poop, It's only when we're not watch. We've tried a petstore pill thats suspose to make the poop taste bad for them but it's not working. We've scolded them many times but they still don't get it. Is there a way to stop this without resorting to a shock collar?

We:
-Pick up the poop everyday or two
-Squirt bottle won't work, one dog thinks it's a game and the other doesn't care if she is sprayed

EDIT: Only Mia is extreamly bad but Maya has been caught doing it too

 • I suggest looking around online and in any books you can find - there can be a number of reasons why dogs eat their own fecal matter from stress to having parasites. I would suggest continuing the pill and clean up what poop you can in your yard and constant supervision.

What breed are they? How often do you take them out of their home enviorment (i.e. walks, parks, etc)? How often are they interacted with when outside (throwing a ball, frisbee, etc.)? Are they eating their own feces or other dogs?
Keep their mind off of it by playing with them.

 • Might also be that they aren't getting the proper nutrition they need or their bodies aren't processing the nutrition correctly, so they re ingest the poop trying to get what their bodies need. Might try changing what you're feeding them.
