Newbies- Well, at Least it's Good for a Laugh!

Oh my gosh. I just had a novice try to scam me out of 23million. And they did it in the lamest, most stupid way ever. I'm still laughing about it. Here's the story. I had a wanted add on my kennel for banners. Someone responds. I look at their banners and they honestly look like crap. Some stupid thing made with on of those free banner making websites. But, I went through that when I was a newbie too and it was hard. So I decided I was feeling nice and I'd order one for 10k. Probably wouldn't end up using it but whatever. I order it. The person sends me a contract for 3mil. Well, most people would know that that would've been charged to that owner. I figure "Wow, dumb scam, I'll accept it and return the money to teach them a lesson." But, of course that plyaer doesn't have enough money, so I message them saying to please make another contract. Here's my message: When I try to accept the contract it says "one of the players does not have enough money." Obviously it's not me because I have over 23million. Their Responce: Okok i fixed it Now this is the funny part. They sent me a contract for negative 23 million! Wow. This was my reply: What kind of stupid scam are you trying to pull off? I'm not dumb enough to accept a contract that'll clear me of all my money. Normally by now I'd have put them on ignore, but this is ammusing! They're Responce: sry i just need some money =( i suck at this game and need lots of buisness i am sry i am just nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. Stupid scamming, then pathetic pleading. A classic. But, hey, it gave me a good laugh.

OMG! that actually made me lol

Ive once had a scam that made me laugh too: Them: hey, I saw on ur kennel tht u wnted to by a sponcer, I sell them Me: Ok, how much do you charge? Them: Um, only 10 Mill, b/c they dont cost much This is when I get a bit suspiscous... (excuse my spelling xD) because they cost $25 rl dollars.. Me: Um. You know they cost $25 dollars right? Them: No, they dont. Ive made 23 sponcers in total, and I made 1 today Me: <a href="http://www.virtualpups.com/goodies"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">www.virtualpups.com/goodies</a> (or whatever) Um. No $25. Look on that link. May I have a link to one of the sponcers that you have made? Them: THEY COST 25 CENTS! Me: (¬.¬) No. 25 real life dollars. I know this because I have seen and made many transactions on the forums, for sponcer accounts and upgrades. Them: HHAAAA! IF UR SO CLEVER, AND HAVE DONE SO MANY, THEN DO IT URSELF! U WONT EVEN SPEND 25 CENTS ON A GAME! BURRRNN! SUCK U!

I was gonna report them for suspected multiple accounts & scamming, but then I looked on their kennel a few days later and they were already suspended xD

Wow!! :shock: That's why I rather send the contract instead of them sending me a contract. hahaha I remember someone almost doing that to me. They just randomly sent it to me though.

You know, this doesn't sound funny to me at all.. I've not seen nor heard of an attempted scam being reported.. So guess what?? In another week or two, they will scam someone else or in a month, several others and we'll have to deal with it after the fact. What a pain. Neither can we check and see if they are someone who is already banned from the game and ban them again before they create any problems. If you'll report these people who attempt to scam, at the least we can keep our eyes on them and stop them before they get good at it and before too much damage is done. Imagine how a new player feels getting scammed by someone on the game. They probably quit and gives the game a bad name. New players don't know any better and assume that it's normal for people to cheat them out of their money on the game. /rant Yes Woodpecker, reporting is the exact thing to do, even if they have been suspended. It may be a temporary suspension until we can determine what's going on. So they may be unsuspended without more evidence that what they did was on purpose.

It's funny that they think they could get away with it. I feel bad for them in a way, that they feel like they have to do that to be good at the game. I would have reported them. It's a good thing you caught that! You would have been broke.

Yes, I always read the contract details before accepting it just to be on the safe side. Alabama, I'll report them. I didn't really think I needed to because it was only an attempt, but I guess that make since. Thanks.

hah >.> Id be in trouble because I have accepted contracts like that before. Luckily it was a player I know, and my money was returned without a problem because it was just an accident, but still, I totally wasn't paying attention
