I had a metal retainer - it wasn't the kind you can take out.
My mouth was sore for a week and it was hard to eat. I ended up having that thing from 3rd-7th grade.
Hmm. I had my permanent one on the top from 3rd - 5th grade, they took it out and four years later put in a removeable one. >.> WOW.
Well, it flipping HURTS. I can't eat, I can BARELY drink(my teeth touch the glass), I'm going insaine.

I had to get ones to push my teeth in place which hurt so bad. Just remebe advil 9I've tryed asprin etc doesn't work as well) also eat soup, and if the pain won't go away in a week call your dentist. It shouldn't last more than that and if you have your retainer in most of the day you will get used to it.
