My unlikely pets.

So last week my mom and I started reading about turtles because I got a hole turtle set up at a yard sale. Well after reading about tortoises, we thought turtles sounded stupid, so we decided to get a tortoise. We are keeping her in a box now, shes only like an inch big. But she wil get to be like 150 pounds, and we will have to keep her outside. But it takes like 5 years to get that big. so we have alot of time before that. She is eating ALOT of food for her sise. I will upload some pics later. She is a sulcata tortoise. We havent named her yet.

One random day about 3 years ago, my dad came home with 2 smelly ferrets. There cage was full of maggots. My dad's friends couldent take good care of them, and wanted to give them away. Well, there names where Bandit and Casper. Ferrets are smelly, and take a lot of work, but I loved them (there soooo cute and spastic!) so I got to keep them. Its been like 3 years and there doing fine. Casper is now 7 years old and slowing down. Bantit is only 4. We might be getting another rescue ferret soon. Will also post pics of these guys later.

I was at our familys farmstand working when my mother called me. She had lifted up a piece of wood and uncoverd a nest of VOLES. One of the babys dident run away. I took him and put him in a 100 gal. tank with dirt. He was content with the food a water, and is now like a pet. I tried to release him into the wild, but he jest sits there and looks at me. Dosent run. I think he would get eaten by somthing if I left him. I dont think he knows he is in a cage its so big. I dident name him. (will get pics)

I have two dogs, a springer named Frisco and a cocker named Delmonico. We live on a farm, so these two jest run the fields and things. They come when we call and sleep in the house, but they are mostly outdoor dogs. <img src="http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z98/bridgetbaker12/del.jpg"; alt="http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z98/bridgetbaker12/del.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
<img src="http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z98/bridgetbaker12/frisco.jpg"; alt="http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z98/bridgetbaker12/frisco.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

I have a flock of chickens too. I have an americana rooster named Shadow, two americana hens named Misy and Misty, five buff orpington hens, Chicky, no-tail, Cluck and Cheep. We also have five Rody reds, but they all look the same, so they dont have names.

We also have two rescue hens named Tornado and Trinket. Some new yorkers where going to visent there frien who had moved to vermont. They stoped a farmers market and got 2 cute chicks as a moving to vermont joke. There friend dident know how to take care of them, so she brought them to a place that had some free range hens, hoping we would take them. We did, and slowly they became part of the flock. As chicks, they would freak out if you picked up on of them. (where did my buddy go!) and now they never leave each other's side. Its so funny! (will add pics)

So there are my unlikey pets. I will post pics of them ASAP.
