BIG SIZE FILES. WARNING. CAUTION. So, I drew some manga while I was bored at tutor. xDD [I spend my time ignoring my teachers and getting in trouble with my friends. xDD] I used a guide book by Christopher Hart, tis called Manga Mania: Girl Power! [stupid name, I know, but hey, this is one of the best books I've ever seen. xDD] Anyways. <img src="http://i30.tinypic.com/wgzx1s.jpg"; alt="http://i30.tinypic.com/wgzx1s.jpg"; class="bb-image" /> I want critique, HARSH, critique. (: Here's another one: IGNORE THE DUDE. LOOK ONLY AT THE GIRL. XD <img src="http://i32.tinypic.com/wrmaet.jpg"; alt="http://i32.tinypic.com/wrmaet.jpg"; class="bb-image" /> Oh and about the writing... MY FRIEND WROTE THAT. >__> <__< Thanks. Thanks, but, I don't consider myself "really good" at drawing. xD I believe I need -much- much more pratice to get to a pro. ;D Like, I still need a guide book to draw some stuff. [hint hint xD] But, thanks. ^^

so what if you needs a guide book? o.o I bet some of the manga artists that make what I've read need guide books for some stuff, just so it looks better than just out of their mind. Then again, I may be wrong. >.> I still think you're amazing at people. -continues to stare- I love the girl dressed as a guy. -nods- :P

I love how the wings are on the one pic and how you did the legs, made them smaller and shorter to look like the angel was flying up.

I have some critique. Well, these pieces quite frankly look eyeballed. I 'm not trying to be rude, of course. I just mean like.. It's almost to the point of looking traced, but I don't believe you'd do that.

Another thing is that copying another style isn't the best way to improve your art. Anime is -so- widely known and -so- many people do it. If you want to take that style, enhance or add your own flavor/twist to it that's great! That's the first step to developing your own unique style. I started out drawing using another artist's style(trying to.. xDD) and I still use some parts of it today! Or Wert I know learned to draw wrinkles on clothes from Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Learning from styles is NOT a bad thing! Using someone else's is not good, however. And just because I haven't rambled enough lately, I personally don't believe doing fanart in another style is a bad thing. I just don't like it when it IS someone's style. i.e. Lion King, Spirit, Anime/Manga are the min things. Add your own twist. And don't eyeball photos. If a person is sitting down in your ref then maybe have them cross their ankles or something, anything to make it more your own. And you really need to learn basic anatomy before doing stylization. Have you ever heard the phrase "Sometimes you need to be good to be bad"? It's sort of like that. You need to know the anatomy and muscle structures so you know what to exaggerate or whatever. Make sense? Your art is by no means bad, but eyeballed images lack passion to me. Good work, keep it up.
