There were many diverse tribes with different names, there was the Lakota, Sioux, Cherokee, Hopi, and many more. The different tribes survived in many different ways, some hunted after buffalo while other primarily used farming as a source of sustenance. The tribes that used hunting, relied on the development of technology in order for the hunting of food to be easier. The spear, the Folsom, and lances were all examples of the weapons that Indians used to kill buffalo.
Other Indian tribes however used farming as a source of food. These Indians lived in areas where plants could grow vividly due to the abundance of water and sunlight. The effort needed to grow such vegetables and herbs require much less energy than hunting did, which is the reason why some tribes switched from hunting to farming such as the Cahokia. So in order for everyone to contribute, the tribe was divided into different clans. Each clan was responsible for different social, political, or ritual functions. Clans were also an important way of binding together the people of several communities into loose ethnic and territorial alliances.
Overall the North American Indians were all hard-working people who put the need of their culture before themselves. The Indians lived closely together which made them a strong body of unity.

2.
The motives for European exploration can not be described only using one explanation.
