-this might end up being really long. so you've been warned-

So, one of my friends is clinically depressed. She's in decent condition, though...On meds, you can barely tell if you don't know her, she still functions, she just gets mad and sad much easier. But I have depressed tendencies, so I just kinda deal. Ya'know, I'm encouraging but I don't go home and worry about her...I know she can pull through. If I can, anybody can. And she's almost there.
Well, some of my other friends get really worked up over her condition and actually have cried about it and are hurting their own mental stability worrying about her. This concerns me deeply.
I'm not saying that this depressed friend doesn't deserve concern, but getting so worked up just makes the depressee(?) feel worse, not to mention put the worked-upee on the road to becoming the depressee.
I try to help and tell my friends that she will be fine and that they shouldn't do anything besides show her more love and support than she's ever known. But they are pretty much afraid of her and try to spend as much time away from her as possible and get really upset (I mean like crying for days upset) after seeing her.
I know what to do for her, because I know how I felt in that position. But I don't really know how to explain to someone who's never been there before how it feels and how to respond to it.
Any ideas?
Thanks Lyc!
