Self Grooming?

Anyone self groom their dog, as opposed to using a paid groomer? Bella sheds like MAD. I found hair in my laptop. Not on, IN. XD So I was wondering if there was some nice websites and books to learn how to properly groom their dog. Because Bella could use a trim as well. Her longer hairs are around 4-5 inches long, though the are wavy so they don't look it. And she's never been boarded while with us. I brushed her for over 30 minutes the other night, getting many dead hairs out of her coat, only for her to come inside, get a pat from my mom and more hair goes everywhere. The hair is causing my dad's eyes to get itchy and whatnot. We never had this problem with Auzzy since he didn't shed. So anything I did know has been lost in the almost two years since I've lost him. Just wondering if anyone had any tips.

I kinda groom our dogs but I have no clue what im doing xD I just whine or butcher it and my mom says find ill just do it

Savannah goes and gets groomed professionally, but Jazzy's fur is so short that I usually just bathe/brush her myself

Dreamy's dog is a pure bred mutt. Some people have said Berger Picard mix, others german shepherd, others cairn terrier. I'd just like to maybe trim some parts that are getting in the way, but mostly learn how to properly "strip" her coat of dead hairs. I'll take a look at those, Sandy. =D Thanks!
