I have an annoying problem. My computer is being amazingly slow, and freezing alot. I have good virus protection, and when I scan nothing comes up. Does anyone know what's happening? Or how to fix it? It's interfering with like everything I try to do. I haven't even been able to train much, because it either freezes, or goes so slow that I'm afraid I'm going to mess them up. GRRRRRRRR

    I can't help... like HCM said, maybe you have low memory. <br><br>On a side not, I have forgotten how to scan for viruses. I used to do it quite often and I don't remember how. lol Any help...

    I've still got likw 49% of my memory free. It's been down to like 20% free, and it still ran fine.<br><br><br>As for how to scan, my antivirus software has a button that says "scan now"..... other than that I don't know.

    I've done all that... And I have highspeed internet, no dile-up... my computer isn't that old either, and has all the latest updates it should have...

    Do you download alot? Sometimes even whne you have fast connection and unlimited internet access and you download over your quota for the month it slows the computer right down to dial up speed. So I would maybe wait it out until the internet bill has been paid and then see if it jumps back up to normal speed?

    Maybe you should do a disk cleaning. Depending on what computer you have, go Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and click Memory Diagnostics Tool. Then restart and it should check your memory when it starts back up. Either that or press F1 on desktop, Performance and Maintenance, and go to a) Clean the PC, b) Performance and Maintenance Tools, which will have a bunch more things to read like "improve computer performance," "free up disk space with Disk Cleanup," etc.
