  I'm not really a fish person, but bettas are the one breed I really like. They don't seem to do much, but they're goregous. <br><br>I have one named Poptart that looks similar to Mayzhee, only with a longer tail.<br><br>They are all beautiful, but I really love Dublin. And I really like Sunfire too. He's got an amazing color. His face just looks kinda mean.

  Haha! Sunfire is my evil boy. His gill covers come up and it makes him look like he has devil horns. I laugh at him all of the time. I love that old man. lol<br><br>As for the breeding question... I would not call myself a breeder. It is a little hobby that I am experimenting with. In the future, I hope to get better quality fish and then compete in International Betta Congress shows. It will be interesting where this hobby goes from here.

  i dont know...i just put water in there and let it sit for a day then put a fish in there.... didnt know there was more than that....besides feeding

  Two new additions! <br><br>I go by Petco almost every week. There was this lovely boy that I'd been eyeing for a few weeks. I told myself if he was still there after a month, I'd get him. I did! I've named him Edelweiss, like the flower and song from Sound of Music. lol What do you think of his color? He's got two red stripes down his ventrals. lol They are so cute. I figure he'll turn more pink as time goes on. I wouldn't call him a dragon but he has heavy scaling around his face. I've always wanted a blue girl. I've got a few but they've always turned out to be green. I'm pretty sure this little lady is BLUE! She has no green what-so-ever! I'm so happy! I haven't settled on a name for her yet. Any help?<br><br>She was so stressed on the way home. We ended up with a flat tire out of town but some kind gentlemen stopped and helped us.   Yeah! I love the color variations in Betta Splendens. Best fish in my opinion.

  i love bettas ... but every time i get one they only live like not even 3 months and if they do very rarely do they out live the snail.. (whitch my current snail has lived almost a year. which is good cuse the last one lived right up till two day after my betta died)

  <br><br>Male fight each other, ALWAYS! Usually if you have enough females in a group, their aggression is spread out and a female sorority works. Not always. Males and females should never be kept alone with one another. The only time a male and female betta should be kept together is spawning time. Even so, they usually beat each other up a lot during spawning. <br><br>Betta spawning is no easy task. It is actually really hard work.

  <br><br>It could take up to a week or so before they decide that it is time. It is recommended that if they don't spawn in the first 5 days to take the female/male out and switch it with another.
