Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Help!

OK this is half vent half question so I'm putting it here.

Gimp. I hate gimp. I have looked through all kids of tutorials and none of them are for clueless begginers. Even the ones for begginers aren't helping me. I just need the basics-really basic-and they're all about specaisl effects and stuff.

So. I have a picture of my bunny. Its a picture of the body and I just want the head. How do I get rid of the part I don't want and make the part I do want like a banner? (You know, a rectangle) And after I'm done please tell me I don't have to upload it with photoshop or something.

Please help! I think I have gimp 2.6 but I'm guessing they're all pretty similar. :?

 • they are all pretty simular (sp?)
there will be a button (on mi left side) in one of your 2 toolbars, it'll have a pair of scissors on it. if you hover over it should say something like smart scissors. click that and click around your bunny's head where you want-if you double click that button again (you might now have to) either a box will pop up with more options, or on the bottom of the toolbar there'll be an option menu. it should say feather-click the little box beside that and set it to about 20 or so. then make sure that you connect all the dots around your bunny's head-then click the enter button on your keyboard. it should look like little ants marching around where you clicked.

if so-right click using your mouse inside the shape of where you want and hit copy. then past it into where ever it is you want it to be at on another thing you have open.

hope that helped-i just messed around with it miself until i got use to it.

 • you can save an xcf if you want to continue to work on it later, or save it as a png (i highly recommend) or a jpeg (makes it less crisp). then you upload it to a host so that they give you the codes and links and whatnot.
