Horsie Lineart Critique (colored)

Okay well I am pretty new to the whole coloring lineart thing so I was wondering if icould get some critique. I DID NOT DRAW THIS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT IT IS BARA'S SIGNITURE ON THE LINEARTS, SO IF U HAVE ANY COMMENTS ABOUT THE LINEART THAT DOESN'T HAVE TO DO WITH TJE COLORING PLEASE KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. Grula Draft <img src="http://i43.tinypic.com/2eb8oia.jpg"; alt="http://i43.tinypic.com/2eb8oia.jpg"; class="bb-image" /> I know that this one isn't too goo, it is only the 2nd that I have ever colored <img src="http://i41.tinypic.com/rco5f9.jpg"; alt="http://i41.tinypic.com/rco5f9.jpg"; class="bb-image" /> Buckskin Arab This one isn't to good either since it is my first one. <img src="http://i43.tinypic.com/dcy39d.png"; alt="http://i43.tinypic.com/dcy39d.png"; class="bb-image" /> Chestnut Draft I think that this one is my best. <img src="http://i44.tinypic.com/2h34ju0.jpg"; alt="http://i44.tinypic.com/2h34ju0.jpg"; class="bb-image" /> Bay AQH Not so good, looks a little rough b/c it is the first lineart that I did without a transparent background. So there you have it. All my lineart that I have done so far. Please be as harsh as posable... =D *Oh and if people like it enough adn play VHR or just want to buy them for the heck of it, I well put these up for sale or auction.

Um, well for one you didn't line or draw any of these. So you should make it clear that the linearts to not belong to you and you have only done the coloring. As for the coloring it's a good start! You need darker shadows and I'd like to see you add highlights as well. ^^ Remember to try and incorperate different colors.

The coloring is very pretty. I like how you noticed horses have shades of pink in their noses. ^^ Very delightful.

You have to have permission to sell from the person who drew the lineart.

Oh really? even if i did just color it? And I see people sell bara's lineart on VHR all the time.

You MUST have the Lineart owner's permission or else it's considered art theft.

If they're selling it, they either have Bara's permission, or they stole it. ;]

okay jumade sure.. on jf-studios.com it says that it can be sold on vhr (and someother sites) so I gues that I will sell it on vhr.. or can I sell it on here but just for vhrc?

It says right on Bara's website that you may sell colored lineart on VHR, but it would be a good idea to ask if you're able to sell them for VHRC as well. The chances are she will say yes if you emphasize that these are to be used on VHR only. And I'd like to point out the shading on the buckskin's legs if good! It should be blended a little though, to help with smudging, set the opacity of it so it's easier to blend it. How you did the shading on the legs, where you go over the lines Bara has drawn in for muscle definition, you should do that all over the body as well and it'll look good! The more defined lines should have darker shadows, and also under the legs and the armpits should have a darker shadow as well. You're doing a really good job though.

& Also thanks for making it clearer that the lines do not belong to you, I know it has her signature but people were still confused.

okay I well color whole new lineart when i get back home and then put them back up with the critique that I am getting rom you guys and the VHR poeple.

I can see you're trying to shade/texture. But you're being over-cautious! Don't be afraid to go full out! What you're doing is called pillow shading. Which means you're just shading around the edges of the lines and not paying attention to a light source. Try looking at some tutorials on deviantart.com or I can find some useful ones for you. c:

Haha they look great Jen! I think I als saw somewhere where you could do it all in different gray shades, and mess with the hue and saturation. But silly Gally wouldn't know she's mixed up when it comes to coloring! XD
