• I use Corel Paint Shop Pro 11, and I like it =D Not sure how their other programs work though =P
All good things must come to an end. All endings will begin new good things.

  • eh, it took me a while xD Ive had it for a couple years, and Im still finding more things to do with it, lmao.

But, for getting started, it didnt take very long. Just finding all the little extras takes a while. ^.^ it does photos and everything as well, but its got all the other features to it for making banners, coloring art, etc.

Hmm. I think I may go with Paint Shop Pro. 8D

Price? I hope it's not as outrageous as Photoshop. xD

  • uhhm. Mine was around 100$ when I got it, but they come out with a new one every other year or something. I know there is a 12 out there now, and it was 150$ (I think) for me to upgrade.. not sure how much to buy it brand new without an existing program.

  • I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9.0, and it just came with my computer. Pros: Easy enough to get around and understand as long as you have a background in these types of programs. Well organized, and I'm pretty sure you can attach a tablet to it. I've gotten a lot of "What program do you use?" after showing people my graphics, so I guess that's a good thing! :) Cons: This version of PSP is either bugged or was a bad version, because there are a few applications on it (like brushes, which is a biggy) that I can't use or else the thing freezes. It also takes up a gigantic bunch of memory and makes my computer slow down a bit (and it's like 2 gigs I think, which is a lot).

I've used Photoshop, and although it's more popular, I think I'd rather use Paint Shop Pro, personally. I would like to buy a newer version, and one that doesn't freeze (due to a faulty program, not because of my computer) though.

1 vote for PSP !

Oh, wow, that's heck of a lot of memory. O__O

Well, I suppose I'll be buying PSP.. since it's way cheaper then Photoshop. xD

It freezes? o_o
I've tried Photoshop 7.0 before, it was good, but not great. x]

Alright, muchos gracias, reina! 8D

My computer freezes up when I use it sometimes, but I blame that on it being a PC. That and my computer only has a gig of memory so it's bad. xD I've looked at tutorials, asked questions, etc. And I don't. Get. It. But I know it can turn out some amazing results.

Photoshop

A lot more expensive but I personally find it more user friendly. The only big difference I noticed was the lack of a pen tool.

Any other questions?

Hm, really? Well I might get what Nickel has, Paint Shop Pro 11.0, since PS is -really- expensive. D:

I've used PS 7.0 before, and it was easy to figure out, but I've never really been able to do anything -great- with it, Dreamers. :P
But thanks for all of the advice! 8D

  • xD

I have Photoshop CS3, but I also have Photoshop Elements 5.0 which came bundled with my tablet. I use Elements more often then I use CS3, because usually I don't need all CS3's fanciness. Elements is good for drawing, not so good for banner making but still decent :P

  • Yeah, the price really makes up the difference. If you can save couple hundred dollars, psh. I'd be willing to make the sacrifice. xD
I never bought any of my photoshops. The elements either came on my computer or came with my tablet. CS2 came on my computer(then got wiped), and CS3 extended my dad got from a friend at work since he felt really bad about the virus. xD

  • I used to have Jasc Paint Shop Pro, until I lost the CD and my computer crashed so it got deleted and I couldn't re-download it. XD Aaaannd: I loved it. It was VERY easy to use, I had about a billion brushes on it, and it was amazing.

Now I have Adobe Photoshop 6.0 aaannd: (:P) I love it as well. Although it's more confusing. I don't know how to put on brushes, and there are a few things I wish it did/didn't do. hehe. I got Adobe Photoshop 6.0 free with my Bamboo tablet, as well as a Corel program, and another program, so if you're looking into a tablet, I'd kill two birds with one stone, and get the tablet/programs free.

Help?
:D
