Beginerr Snake Owner

I want to get one soon.. Any ideas what i should be looking at?<br><br>I really like Corn snakes.. good/bad idea?

  • I disagree - I prefer to recommend ball pythons as beginner snakes. Corns tend to be more temperamental in my opinion, but if you like them and are willing to learn on your feet, go for it =D To each his own XD

  • About six feet - but as my girlfriend just brought up, corns are also good beginner snakes, like any reptile keeping them well fed and socialized is key. I prefer ball pythons - there are pros and cons to both species.

  • Which ever kind you get, research them thouroughly, don't just take strangers advice. I have seen many people get animals (many reptiles) and just have no idea what to do with them, and end up giving them away or unintentionally killing them. Corn snakes and balls are both great beginner snakes, it all depends on how much room you have and what you perfer. Research, and don't act too fast. Get everything you need way in advance and shop around for a good snake, not some sickly over/inbred one.

  • I just bought my second ball python - they are great.<br>I will shoe pics if you like :)<br><br>my sister carries him around the house, Great beginner.<br><br>Now, if you are looking for something cool and active - don't get a ball python. Mine is never out (unless its feeding time), he is always in the rock. <br><br>They are not Active.
