Bad Grades

I really understand that if you don't get good grades you can't make it at college as easily as others, or not make it at all. But I just have such a HARD time in school, just in History really. So my one friend has seriously been bugging me about me passing every day! I understand she is just trying to help, but she makes me feel like poop! She says that I don't really care about my future and that my life doesn't have to be defeated now. How am I defeated now if I haven't even begun my life?!?! She was also saying that I am not like most failures because they are all druggies and alcoholics....I thought that was very mean because a lot of the alcoholics/druggies have serious trouble and they are just going through hard times. She also said that their future is already destroyed...THIS IS WHERE I FLIPPED OUT ON HER! I get that they have less of a chance of having a great life, but honestly if you think about it, half of the big time artists of this time were alcoholics or drug addicts. EXAMPLE: Andy Warhol! I don't know, most of you will probably agree that I should get better grades, but when people yell at you every day about it, you really don't want to try anymore because of all the pressure.

I'd so tutor you in history but 1. You're most likely in a different grade 2. You're probably not a french imm. kid, but I could translate lol 3. You're probably not studying Canadian history lol And if you are studying canadian history I can help. If not sorry =( But I know what you mean. About people riding you until you snap. my mom does that to me all the time

Hah. Math is the worst for me. I don't get it. Ever. We only have As, Bs, Cs, C+s, C-s, Fs, and Is for grades in my school. Math = C- SS/History = C+ or B, can't remember. Science = B, C+, can't remember. English = A PE = C- (the teacher likes to single me out) So.. I have pretty much a lot of bad grades that would make it hard for me to get into college. But, as far as I'm concerned, algebra won't help my career path to become a writer/author. I'd rather learn 'Comsumer' (or whatever it's called xD) math with financing and stuff-- things that I could actually use in life. That kinda math. The math that a) makes sense and b) might better people's lives if they know it. Algebra is just -- pointless most of the time... and how will it better anyone's life unless they become a rocket scientist? XD :roll:

I know how you feel. I have a friend who isnt so much of a friend anymore really, but anyway, shes always bragging about how smart she is and how dumb my best friends and I are. Just because shes in some advanced classes. Its annoying. And its like if I get a B, Im happy. And if she gets a B she flips out and shes like ''Oh no! My life is over I'll never get in college!'' And shes always like ''Your stupid. Your just gonna end up working at a fast food place.'' Actually Imma be a rockstar. But Im going to college first, I have a backup plan >.> But anyway, got off subject there for a second. Tell your friend you know you can get better grades and you'll try too, and to quit bothering you because you already know these things. Works for me usually. Just keep trying and you'll do great.

omg. i have like the same problem. uhmmm. i love history and anything that deals with social studies...but i always get like a c or b for my final grade. it's not because i don't learn it or don't understand it, it's just that it takes longer for it to stick in my head and remember everything...and the tests come soo soon, so i don't have enough time to learn what i need to know. math on the other hand. i have a 106% in. i love math. it's my favorite subject. my other grades are usually always a's, so the only bad thing is the history section. but it doesn't bother me too much.

ergh. history I have an A+ These are my grades: History: A+ Computers: A- Spanish: A- Algebra 1: B+ English: B+ Science: B P.E.: A- And my parents always say "These are average grades. You need to excel for medical school." -_- I just think you should tell your friend to back off, she's not in charge of your life. [: Well that's what I would say.. in a very mean way. XD

:shock: i know what its like.. i have exactly the same.. they just put everyone else down... grades in my school are like this: a-e for abiltiy, 1-5 for effort. they get 1 in everything for the last 2 years, and we get 6 grades a year. it sucks... l__l my history teacher is so annoying.. he marks exams really feircly and will only be happy if i get like... 80% which is impossible for him... on the last exam, i thought the battle of hastings (i study eng. medeval history) was a rebellion, so i wrote the essay... and so i could only get a max. of 9 marks out of 25... its so annoying :twisted:

Ok I hate history. I am not terrible..I just don't like it and don't want to pay mind to it. I could easily get a B if I tried. So I flunked the first 2 quarters of history because I did nothing. When I did try this quarter I had a 100% until I got sick for a week and couldn't catch up. I get what you mean with things being tough. I tried in honors biology but I couldn't keep up with it. It was more humiliating when the freshmen got better grades then me and understood it better. Least we all agree our teacher is icky. I haven't found anyone that likes him. He thinks he's so funny..Mr. W..if you know who that is. Its funny listening to Andrew rant about him. (the blonde haired one in my art. I dont know his last name. >.<) What are you on for history?

Reading: A+ Math: B- English: A- Spelling: A+ Social Studies: C- [Yikes O.O---] Science: B- P.E.: B [and yet, we haven't had P.E. ONCE.] That sucks to my parents. Off this Report Card I got grounded for a month and a half. :roll: And Social Studies is the same as history.

I have Mr. Femec....I dislike him very much. And right now I have an F in history.

It's okay, Pish, your grades will go up [: I have to get better grades than what I'm getting right now.. I really want to be accepted into Johns Hopkins Medical School.. so. Working my butt off since 7th grade till senior year! xD

My parents used to be really toucthy about my grades, but at this point all they want is for me to try...but, I admit it, I am LAZY. Ive never been good at math so less than utter failure is a plus for me. My grades are as such: Biology:B English: C (the teacher and I are both very opionated) Algebra:F (epic fail on my part) Geometry: F (epic fail again, LOL) Health(is also a PE class): A History: B- Highschool gym:A And suprisingly, my parents are cool with this... Huh. The last three classes are with the same guy, but he's a total weirdo and he likes me so it takes very little effort.
