Twilight?

edited April 2009 in Vent
I kinda noticed Everyone is Twilight crazy - Honestly I didn't think it was that great of a movie - I felt like asking for my money back! I went and saw it in the movies and I felt like leaving in the middle of it.I kind of notice it was aimed at tweens and felt completely stupid for going....and Tweens I understand why you like it is a typical tween movie and my little sister loves it (posters, movie, shirt, ect.)

BUT

I WANT ANOTHER GOOD VAMPIRE MOVIE!!!! WHY!?!?!?! WHY!?!?!?!?

So..

Dear Hollywood,

Give me a good vampire movie this year or I will die. :)

LOVE,

Alma

YAY!

I hope they understand :)

  • Omfg...it was so funny, we have a news channel at school, and they were advertising Twilight and some other vampire books. And some girl goes
''They're just copying Twilight.''
Me: ''You know there were hundreds of vampire books before Twilight, and there will be hundreds after?''
Her: ''No way! Really?!''
Me: ''Ever heard of Anna Rice, Dracula?''
Her: ''Huh? Whats that?''

It made me want to hit old people I was so angry :| (But I didnt, promise)

I completely agree with you opinion on the movie though ^^

  • That Movie made me want to Cement Babies into Lawn Gnomes. I promise I didn't though

  • If you want a REAL vampire movie (not that I had any issues with Twilight that couldn't be resolved lol) my aunt and uncle went to see underworld. It's even got werewolves lol. But it's like, rated R...

  • That was a good movie.

I watch the others..

  • I actually did like Twilight the movie. But not too much. The books were good, I admit, but it's just a copy of other vampire books made before. I can honestly say I do like Twilight, but I hate all the overly-obsessed fans of it. I want to burn every single Twilight product they've made. The books and movie can stay, but other products need to go. I'm sick of seeing Twilight everywhere I go.
  • I am like addicted to the twilight books and i have read them all at least twice, but the movie sucked. I Laughed to whole time because it was so horrible that is was funny. I ended up buying to movie with special feats and the scenes they cut out would have truly made the movie 10 times better. they didn't stick to the first book and the missed so much of the details that should have be in it.

Sandypaws i agree with you that the products should go. i mean everyone is wearing the shirts it is so annoying.

Sybhat3 i know what you mean its like no one notices that there are other books out there with vampires in them. their like OMG your lying.
sometimes it is just better to roll your eyes and walk away from the blonds (no offense to blonds being that i am one)

Okay that is my two cents worth.

  • Have to throw in my two cents worth. Lol

I LOVE the books. I am obsessed with them and I haven't seen any books like it. I have read many vampire books but none seem to match twilight so I dun see why people says twilight is copying other vampire books, its different. I should know as I read like every book there is at the library. Lol.

The movie, well I didn't even want to watch it at first because of the actor they chose for edward. They could have chose someone better. I did watch it though and I got to say I didn't think it was that bad, and I am not a tween. Different people just have different opinions. Like my bf won't watch it just because of the actors they picked but my ex loves the movie and can't wait for the next one to come out.

Its just different people have different views. Kinda like how some people like the HP books/movies but other people think its stupid. Everyone is just different. But it isn't all tweens. I know a lot of adults, teens, and tweens that love the movie and I also know others that despise it. :D

Just my two cents!

What about Van Helsing? My parents love that movie. :?

  • o: I watched Underworld and Van Helsing. xDDD

Scared me though. -_-
I'm getting so sick of seeing stupid Twilight shirts on like practically every girl in the mall.
>____<
And one day the boys in my Spanish class were like "Why don't you like Twilight? I mean almost every girl loves it."

After class.. well that's a different story now. xD

But, seriously. There are way more vampire books better than Twilight.

I love Anne Rice, and I also love The House of Night novels. It's an awesome new take on vampires (spelled vampyres in that novel). I love it. ;D

But I saw the movie and thought in my head "I should've never wasted my money on this crap."
Heh.
All I got to say. ;D
    bluehh.
  • I love the movie, books, and everything about them exept Edward. He's all bossy, arrogant, snotty, and tells Bella wht she can do and such. If he were trying to protect her, he'd leave for good and let her have Jacob. >.> I'm done.

  • I was bribed to watch the movie by my parents.

Apperantly, my price was a bag of chips to myself and watching Jurassic Park the day after.

I thought the movie was THE BIGGEST CHEESE ever (*Sparkling* vampires?! I'd like to see Vlad the Impaler sparkle). Honestly. And I tried to read the first book because I wanted to see what the fuss was about while ago, but I couldn't make it past chapter 3.

I loved reading Dracula (Infact, I read it again after the Twilight movie to remind me what vampires traditionally have been), and I loved watching Van Helsing.

Also, everyone who's read twilight (at least at my school) insists Edward is their boyfriend, and they can't realize that HE'S FICTIONAL! And the cheese.

Edward: And so the fangirls fell in love with the book.
Bella: What a stupid book.
Edward: What vain, idiotic fangirls.

  • O.o I missed that part.

Yes the accessories is a bit too much. I wouldn't buy them because its a watse of money but hey they just wanna make more money but people that buy the shirts and stuff are crazy.

  • "*Sparkling* vampires?! I'd like to see Vlad the Impaler sparkle!"

I love you.

If you want an interesting, unique book, go read Peeps by Scott Westerfield.

And then proceed to lock yourself in your room, under a rock, with no food or water if you even begin to compare it to The Host.

As far as good movies though, Queen of the Damned and The Lost Boys are the only two good vamp movies I've seen. xD

I hate Twilight. I hate the author's style of writing, the way she styles most of her characters, and her redundant use of plot. I hate the Twilight movies. The main actors were -awful-. Seriously. Edward looked Undead- in the glitter-coated zombie fashion. Bella had two facial expressions "Duh..." and "OMG" I hate Twilight fangirls. Each and every one of them needs to be sat down and forced to read some GOOD books.

Twilight makes me want to punt small children. Really it does, and it takes all my self control not to.

  • O.o again different people like different things. Seriously I read the first book of peeps and it was alright but man the second one killed me. It was so boring that I didn't even read the whole book which I don't do very often. Now the host, damn I loved that book. It was so different than the usual book and exciting. I loved it. Now I have to wholly admit that underworld 3(I think, the one that just came out) was 100 times better than the twilightmovie.

I thought there were only one Peeps book. You may be mixing it up with Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras, etc, which, as you said, started out okay, but got progressively more and more boring. xD
    2eldxsm.png
  • Nah. There are two peeps books. I have read all the uglies, specials etc a few times so I know what I am talkin bout. It really just wasn't that good of a book from the start. Just kinda bleh.

  • I used to get really annoyed with crazed Twilight fans as well.
Particularly around when everyone found out about the movie.
But I read the books and couldn't put them down.
And I thought the movie was okay..I just didn't like how they changed so much.

But honestly, I think everyone should get over it :]
Just ignore it.
I did. • Haha. The sparkling vampires did actually kill it. It's so stupid. Plus they did awful sparkling effects in the movie. Some people didn't even realize he was supposed to be sparkling at first. xD And he's like "Come with me. You need to see what I look like in the sunlight." o.o what's the big deal about SPARKLING?
  • Tis what I am saying moonlight. :D but anyways about the sparkling I liked It in the book because it was different but the movie made it bleh. I wondered how they were going to make him "like diamonds" and it just royally sucked. He looked pretty much the same and wasn't that pretty like the book says. It was horrible. Killed what my imagination came up with, ya know?

  • I totally agree alphawolf. The sparkling was horribly done and edward was more scary than hott.

Couldn't put it any better. But i was just laughing, is was horrible. I think that the next movie they are making is going to kill the buzz. i head something about how they are trying to do the second and third together in one film. I don't know that just what i heard. If they screw the next movie up i think that i am going t start a bonfire and burn my books. and i really love the books.

  • the movie could have been a lot better, not on topic too much. though Cam Gigandet could have been none better a character for James. yet i did get a bit confused seeing as they talk about vampires being all pale and whatnot yet (no rasicm intended) they have Laurent being played by a black guy (for lack of better words that sound right)..kind of confusing. and they leave way too much stuff out, i've played better vamp movie out in mi mind, with lovely characters that actually look like the ones in the book. Carlisle and Emmett were the only Cullens that i thought looked right.

but even though everything about the books and the movie is fiction and unrealistic, Meyer has a good imagination and made the books pretty damn good.

  • this is the last time I will go over this, cos I am so incredibly tired of seeing twilight pop up in a vent thread, and some poor bird or bloke spouting about how it was great and how SM is a fantastic author

read the bloomin' Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice and you can match the chars, and circumstances. honestly, not even the golden eyes was her idea to begin with.
and the Vampire Chronicles aren't the only thing she stole from. there are quite a few other authors and series to be found within SM's pages, and tbh, she writes the books as if SHE is Bella. Which is a little creepy. She has a husband and three children and should not be fantasizing about a vampire who looks seventeen.

SM is a copyright infringing, plagiarizing insult to the title of author.

: D

  • I haven't read many vampire books, but I feel is Stephanie Meyer is actually pladurizing(SP?) and everything, something would have been done. This has been out for awhile, and if anything was going to happen, it would have by now.

With the sparkling thing, they should have never done that. It did make them look like they were sweating, and they messed it up even more with the glistening sound. They did cut a lot out, but the movie was already some 2 hours long.

I would say, overall, Twilight is pretty good. It isn't the best, but it is great in some ways, not so great in others. Again, this is my opinion.
