Getting a Rattatat-taty

Well.. I have some money and i want a rat, always wanted one .. I did want a hammy but my sisters bite so nooo thank you... anyway i know the need a good sized cage, i only have £50 to spend on the cage though, any ideaas? what breed is best? i plan on using sawdust
